Mrs. Anna Ruth Lowery

Mrs. Anna (Anne) Ruth Lowery of Saginaw, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on October 24, 2016. She was born on November 9, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Robert and Ruby (Williams) Hoover. Anna graduated from Calumet High School in 1965. She studied at Kelburg Institution School of Swedish Massage in Chicago, IL, graduating in 1966. During that time at Kelburg, she met the love of her life George Lowery. They were married on January 20, 1968 and from that union Kimberly Lynn Lowery was born. Anna was saved and sanctified under Pastor V.L. Herbert in Gary, Indiana in 1956. She was a faithful mother at Victorious Believers Ministries, Church of God In Christ. Anna served on the Greeters Ministries, Mother Board and enjoyed Monday night prayer. Anna’s favorite past times were shopping, bible classes and spending time with her family and friends. She took great enjoyment and pride in being a Foster Grandparent at Jessie Loomis and Saginaw Academy Preparatory. Anna leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Kimberley (Fredrick) Stewart; grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Lowery, Lysandra “Kia” (Robert) Scott, Frederick (Tyanna) Stewart; great-grandchildren, Dedrick, Demaria, Deavyon Lewis, Robert Scott II, Maiya Lowery, Zaida Scott and Lyric Stewart; siblings, Lillie Jones, Ella Hoover-Chandler and Robert (Corinne) Hoover; two brothers-in-law, Martin (June) and Lonnie (Shirley) Lowery; special sister-in-law, Joyce Chatman who always “stuck by me”; special thanks to my “shopping buddy”, Vivian Casey-Carr; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including longtime family friend, Helen Jones. Mrs. Lowery was preceded in death by her husband, George Lowery and parents, Robert and Ruby Hoover. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Victorious Believers Ministries C.O.G.I.C., 624 South Outer Drive with the funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Christopher V. Pryor will officiate with interment in Green Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
