D'Andre L. Kemp

Our beloved husband, father, son and grandson, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the age of 41 years at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital after a brief illness. He was born August 3, 1971 in Saginaw, MI to Barbara Kemp-Lauria and Jimmy K. Tyson. D’Andre was blessed and baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church by the late Rev R.B. Austin. He was a graduate of the Buena Vista High School class of 1989, where he played football. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in Desert Storm. D’Andre was employed by Sprinter Services. He was a master griller and cook, loved boating on Reeds Lake and Big John sandwiches. D’Andre loved catering to his girls and his wife, whom he considered the love of his life. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife and soul mate of 21 years, Princetta Howard-Kemp; three daughters, Diane, Duwanna and D’Andria Kemp; his mother, Barbara (Bob) Kemp-Lauria, Saginaw, MI; his father, Jimmy K. (Sharon) Tyson, Flint, MI; two sisters, Tammy Tyson, Detroit, MI, Yashica Tyson (John Hall) and son Kenyon, Grand Rapids, MI; two brothers, Chris Tyson of Florida and Tray Tyson, Flint, MI; his loving and nurturing grandmother, Mrs. Dorothy Parham Kemp, Saginaw, MI; special mother and father-in-law, Prines and Develma Howard, Saginaw, MI; sisters-in-law, Pamela (Fred) and Definta Howard, both of Saginaw, MI; one very special brother-in-law, Prentis (Jacquice) Howard, Jr.; two very special aunts, Linda (Godmother) Robinson, Saginaw, MI and Vye (Michael) Peterson, Los Angeles, CA; three uncles, Jody, Nate and EJ Kemp, all of Saginaw, MI; two special Godsons, Christopher and Monte; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, including three special cousins, Carla Clayton, Calvess (Frank) Burnett and Tamika Kemp. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Deacon Nathaniel Kemp, Jr.; aunt, Blanchia Kemp; and brother, Darrel Tyson. The family would like to express a special thanks to the nursing staff, doctors and pastoral care at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital; 5 hearts CCU for their love and support; Fred Comer for being there at the right time; aunt, Annie L. (Kevin) Bryant; nephew, Walter (Tara) Howard; his cousins, Tonya, Sabrina, Loretta and Kristal; and the Ellison and McMillan families. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 2615 Williamson Road. Rev. Otis Washington, Pastor. Rev. James Hodge will officiate with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, on Monday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
