Mr. Eric Brian Owens

Eric Brian Owens was a born January 13, 1965 in Bay City, Michigan. He passed away suddenly at his home in Saginaw, Michigan on May 29, 2024 at the age of 59 years. Eric’s life was filled with a love for the outdoors. He was especially fond of fishing and was an accomplished angler. He hunted throughout Michigan, field dressing, cooking and sharing with friends and family the game he harvested. Eric had a passion for researching healthy produce and other food types. As part of that passion, he enjoyed gardening and garlic was one of the main plants he was interested in due to its health benefits. Eric had a real love for people and a desire to help those that he was able to. Whether it was sharing food or giving assistance by using his lawn equipment to help his neighbors, Eric was known for his generous spirit. He loved to be around family, have meals with them, play board games, and tell jokes. He had many close friends and was especially loved by his dear mother, Dorothy whom he treasured. Despite health problems in his later years that resulted n limited mobility, Eric also tried his best to check on and be of assistance, when possible, to his father, Joe and stepmother, Anna who lived in Bridgeport and were also very dear to him. In his last few years, Eric enjoyed listening in to Bible discourses and began to develop an appreciation for the hope of the resurrection and confidence in the power of prayer (John 5:28,29) (Phillipians 4:6,7). He will be dearly missed. Eric is survived by his father, Joseph Owens (Anna) and mother, Dorothy Owens-Harmon; brothers, Scott (Marilyn) and Joe (Annette) Owens; sister, Lori Leslie (Daniel); three step-brothers, Terry (Mary), Randy and Mark Ott; nieces, Amber (Arron Hoffer), Sarah (Jeremy Dukarski) and Kristen Ott; great-niece, Angelina Haley; nephews, Jared (Emily), Jesse (Quinn), Aaron, Adrian (Amber) and Aubrey Owens; great-nephews, Logan, Mason and Hunter Owens and also a host of friends. A Memorial service will take place on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607.
