Ms. Florence Jones

Florence Lee Jones was born July 11, 1938 in Sun Flower, Mississippi the daughter of Sylvester and Florence (Jones) McKinley. Ms. Florence McKinley Lee Jones received her wings on her way to Heaven singing praises to her God. Florence “Flo” enjoyed her life to the fullest. She loved to travel, go on cruises and go out to eat. She loved to walk (10 miles a day) and greet people along the way. She never met a stranger. The one thing everyone remember about her was that “Big Beautiful Smile”. The warmth from her smile could melt the snow. But instead, it melted hearts. Florence “Flo” was the proud mother of two sons, Louis Henry “L.H.” Lee and Mark S. “Boobie” Lee. Both were the pride of her life. Florence “Flo” was a member of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Harold Gates and Robert Davis. She accepted Christ at a young age and was an avid Christian. She was worked for Saginaw General Hospital (Covenant Medical Center Harrison) for thirty-eight years as a Surgical Technician. There is yet another brother, Dr. Purvez Yusef, the two of them loved each other. “Flo” also worked for Carla and Lois at Evans Memorial Chapel and Evans-Smith Funeral Home. “Flo” leaves to cherish many memories, two sons, Louis (Angie) Lee, Kalamazoo, MI and Mark Lee, N. Little Rock, AR; one step-son, James Jones, Little Rock, AR; grandkids, Louis (Amy) Hayes and Jamelle Allen Sims both of Saginaw and other grandkids; great grandkids, Ta’tiahn, Isiah, Zara and Jayden Hayes; one sister, Leola Griffin; aunts, Victoria Simms and Pearl McKinley; special nieces, Lela Mae Wade, Celia Martin and Shelia Austin; sisters-in-law, Mary Alice McKinley, Los Angeles, CA, Diane McKinley, Ora Loveless, Gladis Leana Humes, Ella B. Jones, Vivian G. Tarkington and Tina Lee Bond all of Saginaw, MI; brother-in-law, Herman Jones; other nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends including friend/brother Dr. Yusef. Ms. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Florence McKinley; grandparents, Tommy and Martha Hill, Charlie and Caroline McKinley; sisters, Leara Daniels, Leona and Martha McGee, Lela and Jewel Blackmon; brothers, Eddie, Sylvester, Charlie and Charlie B. McKinley; uncles, Willie and Henry McKinley and other relatives. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Pastor Enomwoyi Franklin will officiate with interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Monday, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
