Mr. Henry Lee Franklin

God saw his road ahead and whispered to Henry to come home and rest from all of his pain. Mr. Henry Lee Franklin passed away on August 15, 2023 at the age of 83 years. Henry was born February 15, 1940 in Elmore, Alabama to March and Carrie (Johnson) Franklin. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He resided in Saginaw, Michigan, believed in God the Lord Jesus and Savior. He retired from Malleable Iron Plant G.M. Corp with over 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #455. He was the patriarch of the family making sure family reunions would be held at his house for many years. He would help anyone in need. Henry was also known as the Bingo King. His hobbies included fishing, playing cards and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He leaves to cherish the love of his life 30 years, Debra Tyson; 11 children, Michelle (Randolph) Franklin-Handy, Joseph (Angie) Bazemore-Franklin, James Sewere, Jr., Patricia (Anthony) Spinner, Christopher (Louise) Crowell, DeWayne (Peggy) Crowell, Diane and Kimberly Crowell, Dereck (Wanda) Crowell, Tiffany Tyson and Dantae (Tanya) Tyson; grandchildren, Eric Dargans, Houston, TX, Keyatta Tyson, Memphis, TN, CaDora Tyson, Saginaw, MI, Darrion Smithers and many others; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Lilly Bell Faulk, Julia Humphrey, Charlisie Mae Thomas and Lizzie (John) Moore, all of Saginaw, MI; niece, Minnie Reese and nephews, Randy and Mathew Harris and others; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Johnny (Shirley) Green, Henry and Pearl Hunter and Michael (Laura) Carter. Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by brothers, Tom, March, John and Charlie Franklin; sisters, Willie Sears, Carrie McWilliams and Annie Jones and special Aunt Lilly Bell Porter Bledson. The family would like to express special thanks to Christine Mason, Terry Shaw, Tiffany and CaDora Tyson, Randy, Mathew and Nadine Harris, and Rodney Sears, Covenant Hospital Dialysis and Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Pastor Mae Wallace will officiate. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Franklin will be taken to Christian memorial Funeral Home, 515 Camden Bypass, Camden, AL 36726.
