Jerome Bernard Scott, Sr.

Mr. Jerome Bernard Scott, Sr., our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and son, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the age of 50 years. He was born February 4, 1964 in Pineville, LA to Azonette Miles Turner and Lorman Bernard Scott and was raised with his father and his spouse, Lois J. Scott. Jerome was employed with the Saginaw Public School District for 18 years, where he cherished all of the students that came through those school doors. He had a great love for football and coached many student athletes along the way. Jerome graduated from Carrollton High School. He served his country in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division and retired from the U.S. Post Office. He was also a former Saginaw Police Officer. Jerome was sweet, loving, genuine, caring and dedicated. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife and soul mate, Christy “Sherri” Scott, who he loved and cherished with all his heart; his children, Shawonda (Randy Sr.) Nance, Jasmine (Adrien) Allen, Juan and Jerome Jr.; stepchildren, Alex and Bryce Kern; grandchildren, Randy Jr. and Gavin Nance, Mila Johnson, Ellie Kern, Dallas Allen and A J Kern; mother, Lois Scott; grandmother, Bernice Scott; sisters, Alicia Scott and Angela Talley; brothers, Kristopher Scott and James Miles; nieces, Krishonna Scott, Cristina Bashans, Alera Scott, Krissmas Scott and Princella Talley; nephews, Jaliel Warren, Kristopher Scott, Jr., Bram and Casey Wright; aunts, Anne (Raymond) Jones, Cindy Jones, Kristie (Rex) Jones and Brenda (Richard) Dawkins; uncle, Bryan Scott, Sr.; cousins, Ray Ann Jones, Nicole Jones, Andrea Jones, Jamar Jones, Courtney Wright, John Wright, Aerial Scott, Bryan Scott, Jr., Deborah Scott, Jennifer Freeman and William Freeman, Jr.; and many other special family members and friends. Jerome was preceded in death by his father, Lorman B. Scott; mother, Azonette Turner; grandfathers, Lorman S. Scott and Reverend Clarence Davis; aunt, Joyce Davis and cousin, Rex Jones, Jr. Funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Arthur Hill High School, 3115 Mackinaw Street. Pastor Rex Jones will officiate. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Saturday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
