Mr. Jerry Theodore Monroe

Mr. Jerry Theodore Monroe, our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin and uncle transitioned peacefully from this life to heavenly rest on November 8, 2023 after a lengthy illness at the age of 70 years. Jerry Theodore Monroe was born August 1, 1953 to Theodore, Jr. and Neva Mae Monroe in Saginaw, Michigan. He was the third of 11 children. Jerry loved his family. He always had a smile on his face. Jerry loved to dance with his grandchildren and watch sports all day. His favorite football team was the San Francisco 49ers. He was a member of Good Shepard Church of God In Christ where as a young boy he watched his father serve as pastor. Jerry recommitted his life to the Lord and his brother Tony Monroe is now the Pastor. Mr. Monroe leaves to cherish his memory, four sons and one daughter, Jerry D.T. Monroe, Saginaw, Jermaine T., and Jamaal T. Monroe, Colorado Springs, CO, Donte King, Indianapolis, IN and Ka’Trerry L. (Timothy) Jones, Warren, OH; 12 grandchildren, Jerome, Tamarian, Olivia, Mi’Kayla, Timmyra, Timothy, Jr., Sharmaine, Jaila, Heaven, Jamaal, Jr., Key’ona, Chanell’e; one great-grandchild, Amara; four brothers, William, Sr. and Tony Monroe, both of Saginaw, Charles Monroe, Detroit, MI and Willie (Christine) Monroe, Minnesota; four sisters, Ruth Monroe, Caroline Young, Catherine Hicks all of Saginaw and Evangeline Monroe, Sterling Hts., MI; a host of aunts and uncles including Geraldine (Moty) McKinney, Alberta Jackson and Larry (Pamela) Monroe; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Jerry Monroe was greeted at the Heavenly Gates by his father and mother, Supt. Theodore, Jr. and Neva Monroe; brother, Billy Bell; sister, Vera Monroe; ex-wife, Linda Jo Wilson; grandparents; aunts and uncles. The family extends special thanks to family and friends, to Compassus Hospice, Cornerstone Caregiving, Ashanti Boyd, Maria Shawnika, Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home and to every church that has prayed for the strength of the family. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor Tony Monroe will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 until the time of service.
