John Douglas McCulloh

John Douglas McCulloh began his journey in life on September 2, 1940 in Riverview, Alabama. He was the son of the late Oliver and Mae Frances McCulloh. John entered the kingdom of Heaven on April 2, 2014. John came to Bay City Michigan at the age of 2 years old. He attended Delta College. He boxed in the Golden Glove for many years. He retired from General Motors Malleable Iron Plant as a Millwright after 40 years of service. John enjoyed drawing pictures of his family, hunting with his friends, and taking his family on fishing trips. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years, Nellie Mae McCulloh; children, Denise McCulloh (Woodrow), Sabina Jiles (Leroy), Vera McCulloh-Pratt (Alvin), Tomicka McCulloh (Brandon), all of Saginaw, MI, Tabbatha Brown (Tyrone) of Detroit, MI; fifteen grandchildren, Darwin, Latasha, Deondre, Lakristal, Ta-Tanesha (Omarr), Christopher, Urshel, Walter, Tamara, Kenneth, Rayshawna, Kenegra, Kendrick, Kendall and Javon; twenty-eight great-grandchildren, Diamond, Darwin Jr., Asija, Jeremy, Deondrea, Shamitrea, Camren, Darreyon, Talia, R’Tavion, Ru’Shiya, Ru’Kiyah, Chris, Michael, Karim II, Karina, Jasmine, Omarr II, Nia, Niazia, Chris, Larry, Myangel, Chasity, Arieona, Urshel Jr., Rayshaun, Lamar; sisters, Runnel Hinds (Charlie), Annie Ruth McCulloh and Christine McCulloh; brothers, James McCulloh, Paul McCulloh, Perry McCulloh (Judy), Horace McCulloh and Sammy McCulloh; aunt and uncle, Willie Pearl McCulloh and Willie McCulloh; and a host of other relatives and friends, including brother-in-law, Clemington Haulcy, Jr. (Mary), sisters-in-law, Dorothye Carter-Haulcy, Ennies Brown-Foster, Alicia Haulcy, Letrecia Haulcy; cousin, George Williams; Godson, Willie Harvey; special niece, Patricia Haulcy; and good friends, Moty McKinney, Alonzo and Namon Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Mae Frances McCulloh; grandparents, Willie B. and Willie D. McCulloh and Anna “Mutt” Thomas; aunt and uncles, Royzell McCulloh, Johnnie McCulloh, Robert McCulloh, and Josephine Wright; brothers and sisters, Clarence McCulloh, Robert McCulloh, Peter McCulloh, Hattie McCulloh and Janice McCulloh; a special friend, Woody Hooker and a son, Jasper Lee Myles. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Greater Williams Temple Church of God in Christ, 608 E. Remington. Pastor Arthur Aiken will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family will be present at 6:00 p.m. for a family hour.
