Ms. Lottie Williams

Mrs. Lottie Bea Williams, known to most as Momma Lottie, was born September 25, 1932 to Mr. Howard & Alzeda Chaplain Anderson in Camden, MS. She was the eleventh of thirteen children. She was introduced to the love of her life, Mr. Lewis Williams, Sr. by Mr. Willie James Dulaney. They united in marriage on February 2, 1957. In that same year they adopted their only daughter, Debra. Lottie joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church fifty-five years ago under the leadership of Pastor Audrain King and remained a faithful member under Pastor Willie Hill. She served as an usher for over thirty years and planted flowers at the church until her health failed. Lottie started her working career along with her cousin, Mae Dulaney in the mid 1960’s at Hoyt Nursing Home. She also worked at several other nursing homes. In 1987, she was able to retire from McAbee Gardens Nursing Facility. Her second and most favorite job was picking up her grandson Twuan daily from school. He became her ride or die buddy for several years. Lottie enjoyed traveling, ceramics, bingo and rummage sales (when she wasn't having sales of her own). She enjoyed attending her Saginaw Northeast Side Neighborhood Association meetings as well as the senior luncheon hour. During the spring and summer, you would always find her sitting on her porch where neighbors, friends and relatives would stop in and enjoy a good conversation and words of wisdom. She loved a well-manicured yard, flowers and plants. She enjoyed receiving and giving her beautiful flowers to others. Lottie leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Debra Ann Dillard. One granddaughter, Raquel (Kenny) Brooks; two grandsons, Deleonce Antwuan Williams and Clarence (Teresa) Williams; her loving great-grandchildren; two sisters, Celesta Body and Alzeda Kelly, Jackson, MS. A special niece, Thelma (Nanny) Boatman. A special cousin, Mae Josie Washington. Godchildren, Sam Watkins, Terri Blakes, Sr., Charlie Weaver, Lisa Hunt, Dorothy Tolfree and Karen Cork. Loving caregivers, Nellie Bozer and Brenda Donald. Special friends, Mary Carpenter, Katherine Latimore, Ozle Jackson, Rachel Roby and Evelyn Roby Thorne. Devoted neighbors: Al (Cynthia) Moultrie, Willie Abby, Christine Coleman, Sam Vickers and Ben Frazier. A host of other relatives, friends and church family. Lottie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. Lewis Williams, Sr in 1984; two sons, Lewis Williams, Jr. and Clarence Williams; four brothers, J.C (Estelle) Anderson, Elijah, Leroy and Howard, Sr.; six sisters, Ella Hannah, Annie Bell Lattiker, Celesta Hall, Ida Mae Smith, Bertha Job, Jonnie Body; one great-grandson, Deleonce Antwaun Williams, Jr.; one niece, Lenora Mitchell; special cousins, Willie (Mae) Dulaney. Special thanks to Caretel Inns Rehabilitation Facility and to my Facebook family for allowing me to share Mom with you. Funeral service will be Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 1111 North 29th Street. Pastor Willie Hill, Jr. will officiate interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery 3210 S. Washington Ave. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607 on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6-8 p.m.
