Rev. Mack Cook Jr.

Reverend Mack Cook, Jr. was born in Calhoun, Alabama on May 12, 1939 to Mack Cook, Sr. and Ella Mae (White) Cook. He passed away on August 18, 2023 at the age of 84 years. He was a resident of Buena Vista Township in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church where he served as Associate Minister. Rev. Cook ministered everywhere he went, with a Bible in hand, and a prayer on his lips, and the Word of God in his heart. God called him to do his work in ministry which he did, until God called him Home. Rev. Mack was blessed to be employed at Grey Iron Foundry, General Motors Corp. and a member of UAW Local 668 for many years. He leaves one daughter and three sons to cherish his memory, LeeVerth McCray (Sonya) of Beaumont, TX, Selena Patrick and Darroll Cook, both of Saginaw, MI and Delano Cook (Felicia) of Bay City, MI; grandchildren, MaKayla Bliss, Cecelia Cook, Delano Cook, Jr, Charnice Kinsley, Myleia Washington, Tiana Gilbert, Jamarryus and Cellena Cook, Riley and Brook Shoemaker, Alona Pitts, LeeVerth McCray, Jr., Sargent and James (Shanae) McCray; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Cherrie Dixon, Alline Cook, Mildred (Curtis) Gooding, Julia (Eugene) McGill and Maggie (Mark) Davis, all of Montgomery, AL, Eleanor Thomas and Elizabeth Cook; brothers, Roland (Mary) Cook of Saginaw, MI, Eyre (Addrean) Cook of Montgomery, AL, Leroy (Woodie) Cook of Prattville, AL; brothers-in-law, Levi Owens (Rita) of Saginaw, MI and Clinton Thomas of Calhoun, AL; many nieces, nephews including special nephew, Charlie Timmons other relatives and friends. Rev. Mack Cook, Jr. was preceded in death by his wife, Ada A. Cook; parents, Mack Sr. and Ella Cook; sister, Venera Dabney; brothers, Arthur “Pops” Hayes, Johnny, Fred and Cleveland Cook; grandchildren, Sarah and Maurice Cook. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI, 48607. Pastor Gregory Johnson will officiate. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Monday, from 2:00-8:00 p.m.
