Mrs. Rosamary Bennett

Rosamary Bennett was born in Gadsden, Alabama on April 18, 1943. She went to sleep in Christ on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in St. Mary's, Georgia at the age of 75 years. Rosamary accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very young age and kept the faith until her death. She was a member of the Saginaw, Michigan founding company of the Seventh-day Adventist faith, along with her grandmother, Ruth Lane and her parents, Amos and Helen Lane. They preceded her in death. The founding company is now called the Saginaw–Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church. Rosamary loved working with children, K-8th grades and was the Ephesus Sabbath School Children’s Division Leader for over 20 years. She taught the children basic biblical truths that would last them for life. She formed the church’s youth choir and directed special programs for various occasions through the year. She also served as the Adult Sabbath School Superintendent and Secretary. Rosamary was a music cornerstone of the church for over 50 years as a pianist and organist. Rosemary was a member of the first graduating class at Delta College as a participant in the Special Teachers Education Program in 1962. She went on to graduate from Ball State University and Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education. She was an outstanding teacher in the Saginaw Public School System for 35 years. Her dedication and service to the field of education is continued through the Rosamary Lane-Bennett Award at Delta College. Although she loved teaching, her passion for her family was her greatest treasure. She leaves to mourn, her loving and devoted husband of over 50 years, John C Bennett. They were parents of two children and their spouses, Rochelle (Kenneth) Morris and Dr. Jonathan (Janine) Bennett; three grandchildren, Kendall Morris, Nathan and Ethan Bennett; an uncle, Fred Wheeler; two brothers, Amos, Jr. (Evette) Lane and Robert (Renina) Lane; three special nieces and two special nephews, Marlana (Charles) Cork, Melissa Lane, Tamara Baker, Adam Lane and Robert Lane, Jr.; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friend, Lorene Burnell. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2115 Wadsworth St., Saginaw, MI 48601. Pastor Carlos Blake will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. to greet friends.
