Ms. Sandra "Sandy Kay" Brodnex

Our darling Ms. Sandy Kay Brodnex passed away peacefully surrounded her children and family at the age of 62 years at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan on February 20, 2024. Sandy Kay attended Buena Vista School District and was a member of Word of Faith International Church until her health fail. She didn’t get out the house much anymore, but she still had God on the inside of her. Sandy Kay loved to spend time with family and her loving companion, Eddie. She absolutely loved God and would often speak on the goodness of God and how he had changed her life and allowed her time to get it right with him and family. “Won’t he do it!” “Yes he will”. Sandy Kay still had a praise on the inside of her and now she is walking the streets of gold in heaven. She absolutely loved to decorate for the different seasons. Sandy Kay was loved and will be missed terribly. Sandra loved to dance and her favorite saying was “booted up”. Sandy Kay leaves to cherish one son, Dametrice (Laketa) Brodnex; one daughter, Krystal Ann Brodnex; grandchildren, Zakari, Dametrice, Jalen, Aparaye, Jaydon (Kiah) Brodnex, Cortney Burch and Kenyae Tolliver; great-grandchildren, Kynli, Kar'Mani, Loyalti and Tray’von Doster, Jr.; sisters, Shirley Brodnex, Gertrude Brown, Carol Watkins and Beverly (Trevor) Culpepper; brothers, Elijah (Karen) Brodnex, Lonzie Brodnex and Glen (Juanita) Brodnex; aunt, Geraldine Burnside; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and companion, Eddie Wooden. Sandy Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Brodnex, Sr. and Lois Ann Brodnex; grandson, Tray’von Doster, Sr.; sister, Paulette Fredricks; two brothers, Fredrick and Donald Brodnex; four aunts, Lena Mae Chester, Beatrice Sherfield, Mary Tucker and Martha Mae Broadnax; uncle, John Sutton; cousin, Joyce Walls and very special cousin, William Tucker. The family would like to express a special thanks to Ascension St. Mary’s, Sparrow Hospital and Word of Faith International Church. We wish to thank each and everyone of you for your comforting words and acts of kindness during our time of bereavement. It means so much to our family. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave, Saginaw, MI 48607. Dr. Byron C. Hayes will officiate. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Funeral Home.
