Scott A. Gibson

Mr. Scott Allen Gibson passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 at his home at the age of 56 years. He was born November 15, 1956 in Saginaw, MI to Herbert and Ada Frances (Hoover) Gibson. He accepted Christ at an early age. As a young boy, Scott was a newspaper carrier for The Saginaw News and a cashier for Baskin Robbins. As an adult, he worked for a General Motors Division plant. Scott was a proud 1974 graduate of Saginaw High School. He attended Bell and Howell of Ohio for three years as an Electronics Engineering major. Scott also enjoyed spending time with his family, giving to others and interacting with his grandchildren. He loved music of all kinds and collected music and coins. He was almost as good a cook as his mom. He loved cooking spaghetti and meatballs. Though challenged in life with illness, he tried to make the most of his life and shared a personal relationship with God through his ongoing giving to others; though the gift was small, his heart was enormous. He leaves to cherish precious memories, two beautiful parents, Herbert and Ada Frances (Hoover) Gibson; one daughter, Sharmese A. Gibson; two stepdaughters, Keiandria (Jermaine) Dickerson; Keairra N. Jones; grandchildren, Shy’Rell C. Gibson, Josiah S. Gibson, Keanu Dickerson, Ethan Dickerson; the mother of his daughter, Carla Jones; four siblings: two brothers, Herbert (Lenora) Gibson, Jr. and Dennis Gibson; two sisters, Patricia A. (Melvin) Washington and Nanette G. (Clifford) Davis; eight nieces and nephews, Kellee R. Davis, Herbert Gibson III, Clifford E. Davis II, Jesse A. Davis, Brittany M. Washington, Blake Washington, Brandon M. Washington and Angela N. Davis; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Mildred Dorsey-Bell, Michelle Dorsey, and the Weems family. Family hour will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at New Friendship Baptist Church, 3404 Sheridan Avenue, with the funeral commencing at 12:00 Noon. Pastor Edward Jackson will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
