Mr. Willie Gold Morris

On Wednesday, March 31, 2021, Mr. Willie Gold Morris, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was called home to be with the Lord at the age of 80 years. He was born November 9, 1940 to Mr. Simon and Mrs. Olivia Morris in Brundidge, Alabama. Willie was married to Della Weese Pickett Morris for 58 years. He was employed by, and retired from, General Motors Corporation in Saginaw, Michigan for 37 years. He was a member of UAW Local 668. Brother Willie Gold Morris was a faithful and active member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, listening to music, being around family, and grilling delicious Bar-B-Que. Brother Morris leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Della Weese Pickett Morris; children, four sons, Harold (Mary Galarno) Morris, Darrell (Cynthia) Morris, Kenneth (Yvette) Morris, all of Saginaw, MI and David (Inez) Morris, Dothan AL; three daughters, Tanya (Victor Cary) Morris, Wetumpka, AL, Clintonia (James) Jones, Latisher (Andrew) Hall of Brundidge, AL; grandchildren, Darrell Morris, Jr., Hollywood, CA, Shawann Rodgers, Brundidge, AL, Xavier Morris, Wetumpka, AL, Bria Morris, Romulus, MI, Brandi Morris, Columbus, OH, Lakeisha Galloway, Grand Rapids, MI, Brandon Johnson and Johnny Johnson, both of Dothan, AL; great-grandchildren, Kobee Rodgers-Wallace and Kaden Jones, both of Brundidge AL; three sisters, Annie Henley and Janie Coston, both of Saginaw, MI and Savannah Caffie, Brundidge, AL; two sisters-in-law, Dessiree Pickett of Brundidge, AL and Julia Morris of Saginaw, MI; two brothers-in-law, Rafis Pickett, Troy, AL and Theodis (Geneva) Pickett of Dothan, AL; several nieces, nephews and cousins including special neighbors and friends, Sam (Joyce) Winters, Jackie Hill, Mr. Batts and Mr. Parker Bates. Special thanks to Mary Galarno and two special nephews, Nathan Morris and Roderick Caffie, as well as a special niece, Joyce Fenn. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Olivia Morris; father-in-law, Rosco Pickett; mother-in-law, Foy Lue Pickett; two sisters, Nora Fenn and Agnes Bond’ three sisters-in-law, Inez Morris, Ollie Tucker and Lodean Sheffied; two brothers, Willie L. Morris and Kyser Morris; six brothers-in-law, Deacon James Henley, Jaddie Caffie, Charlie Fenn, James Tucker, L. Kanner and John Reynolds. Brother Willie Gold Morris will be greatly and sorely missed! Funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 1111 North 29th Street, Saginaw, Michigan 48638. Pastor Willie Hill, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601.
