Mr. A.R.P. Willie Brown, Sr.

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, our beloved father, grandfather, great-father, brother and uncle made his heavenly transition from his home after battling COVID-19 at the age of 73 years. Mr. A.R.P. Willie Brown, Sr. was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan where he attended Saginaw Public Schools and graduated form Saginaw High School. After graduation, Mr. Brown worked for General Motors and the Saginaw Public School System for many years. In Mr. Brown’s free time, you could catch him riding around the City of Saginaw along in the surrounding Tri-City areas; Flint, Bay City and Midland just to name a few. Brown loved hopping in the car and just riding. Fishing was another one of Brown’s hobbies that he enjoyed doing and if there were any kids around him, know that candy was one of the first things he would give the kids. Brown was family rooted and loved spending time with the people he loved that most his family and friends. Brown was something like a, “Jack of Trades”, as he also loved working with his hands. A.R.P. leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Tameia Brown, Saginaw; eight children, Reginald Porterfield, Evett Wiley, Daphine (Ivory) Burton, Ashaki Porterfield, A.R.P. (Gail) Wiley, Demetric Wiley, Dorita (Jessie) England and Carnesha Wiley all of Saginaw; one step-child, Jamaries Johnson; 21 grandkids, Ikiesha, Janella, Dominique and Jermise Wiley, Ivorion and Isaiah Burton, Ar’Triana Wiley, Jessica England Wiley, Jayla England, Demetric Wiley, Antonette Thomas, Darius Kellar, Gary Jones, Jr., Na’Kita Whitson, Donald Eiland III, Reginald Porterfield, Tellinio Brookin, Brittany Coldburn, Mariah Inskeep and Aden Morgan; 25 great-grandchildren;. his grandparents, Lennox Burns, Sr., Georgia Burns and Charlie and Lizzie Brown; sisters, Verna Johnson, Marie Brown, Joethy Arnold, Betty Hightower, Theresa Reid, Lula Tate, Mae Marsh, Barbara Reid, Vivin Abraham and Zandra (Robert) Johnson; three brothers, Charles (Stella) Brown, Kenny (Bridgett) Brown and Russell (Olivia) Brown; one aunt, Dorothy Patterson, New Boston, TX, son-in-law, Thomas Morgan; other relatives and many friends. Mr. A.R.P. Willie Brown was preceded in death by his parents, R.P. and Ella Mae Brown; brothers, James and Donald Brown; daughter, Tammy Lynn Morgan; a great-granddaughter, Kairi Nicole Lewis and a special friend, Gail Wiley. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 2615 Williamson Rd., Saginaw, MI 48601. Pastor Otis Washington will officiate. Interment will take in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place on Thursday at the funeral home from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
