Mrs. Ada Frances Gibson

Mrs. Ada Frances (Hoover) Gibson was born on January 8, 1935 in Holmes County, Mississippi to Shelby Britten and Octoria (Jackson) Hoover. She departed this life on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the age of 83 years. She attended school in Holmes County, MS and Washington, DC. Ada Frances met and married Herbert Gibson, Sr., son of Joe and Mae Bell Gibson on December 28, 1953. Ada accepted Christ at an early age and was a long standing member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church where she and her family were members for forty plus years. Ada’s hobbies and interest included a love of watching sports, sewing, some hand quilting and embroidery. In early years she was encouraged to try her hand at some carpentry skills. She was a great homemaker and her career commitment was an assistant in the Healthcare arena, Real Estate and property management with her husband. Ada retired from St. Luke’s Hospital (Covenant HeathCare-Cooper) after twenty five years of service. Ada had a very matriarchal spirit with a mother’s love for family and friends as well as directing and supporting others. Ada leaves to cherish her memory and legacy, her devoted husband, Herbert Gibson, Sr.; two sons, Herbert Gibson, Jr. (Lenora); and Dennis Gibson; two daughters, Patricia A. Washington (Melvin) and Nanette Davis (Clifford, Sr.); grandchildren, Herbert Gibson II, Clifford Davis II, Dr. Jesse A. Davis,(Matifadza), Kellee Davis, Brittany, Brandy and Blake Washington, Sharmese Gibson, Keaidra N. Jones, Keiandria (Jermaine) Dickerson; five great-grandchildren, Shy’rell, Josiah S., Amari and Journey Gibson and Aneni Davis, many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She will be greatly missed. "Love Eternal" Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby Britten and Octoria Hoover; a son, Scott Alan Gibson; five siblings, Willie B. Hoover (Dooley) Henry Alfred Hoover (Bud), Ernestine Gibson (Baby Sister), Otha B. Hoover (Son) and Odean Johnson; former daughter-in-law,, Alfreda Daniels; two brothers-in-law, Clifton Jones (Gray), Leslie Gibson, Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Erisene Hoover (Tut) and Fannie B. Hoover. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church, 2930 Janes Street. Pastor Paul E. Broaddus will officiate with interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery 3210 S. Washington Ave. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607 on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
