Mrs. Ada Ruby Jackson

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister was blessed with her wings on June 28, 2016 at the age of 88 years old. She was born April 18, 1928 to the late John Westly Sr. and Maggie Nettles in Moorehead, Mississippi. Ada married McKinley Jackson September 11, 1943. She moved from Sunflower, Mississippi to Saginaw, Michigan. Ada became a member of New Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served. She started a career as a Nursing Assistant for Saginaw Community Hospital. Ada later retired from Community Hospital to pursue her greatest passions which were shopping, baking her famous pound cakes, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Ada Ruby Jackson’s memory will be cherished by her daughter, Michelle (John) Livingston of Saginaw, MI; one son, Mozell (Emma) Harris of Sunflower, MS; one daughter-in-law, Carol Jackson of Saginaw, MI; six granddaughters, Carla Clayton of Los Angeles, CA, LaRhonda Livingston, Tontaneesha Livingston and Alexandria Livingston, all of Ann Arbor, MI, Veronica (Joseph) Jordan and Felicia (McKinley) Muschatt, both of Saginaw, MI; two grandsons, Lawrence (Marilyn) Jones of Fort Worth, TX and Douglas Mitchell of Southfield, MI; three great-grandchildren, Nicole Mitchell of Baltimore, MD, Dominique Clayton and Candice Clayton, both of Los Angeles, CA; three sisters, Earlene Nettles of Lima, Oh, Lucille Jones, and Betty (Johnny) Williams , both of Saginaw, MI; two brothers, Eddie (Georgia) Nettles and R.D. Nettles, both of Saginaw, MI; sister-in-law, Mildred Nettles of Lansing, MI; four god-children, Rasheka Williams of Battle Creek, MI, Shardana and Jalana Nettles, both of Dallas, TX and Cathy Burton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, McKinley Jackson; son, Lovell Jackson; daughter, Maxine Jackson; one grandson, Eric Wilson; parents, John Westly, Sr. and Maggie Nettles; three brothers, John Nettles, Jr., Eugene Nettles, and Howard Nettles; two sisters, Martha Lee Sims and Eva Mae Bryant; three sisters-in-law, Angela, Alma and Daisy Nettles and her loving dog, “Peaches”. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Lorenzo, staff at the Fresenius Kidney Care Bay Area Dialysis Center, and caregiver Sabrina Gaines for all the love they put in their job to care for Mrs. Ada Jackson. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 3610 Russell Street. Rev. Alfred L. Harris, Jr., Pastor. Rev. Edward J. Jones will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
