Mrs. Agnes Arlena Crimes

Agnes (Laney) Arlena Crimes was born June 3, 1952 in Parrott, Georgia to Robert and Minnie (Johnson) Laney. She passed away on July 24, 2020 at the age of 68 years. Being born in a Christian family, she joined the Jackson Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She received her education in the public schools of Webster County, Georgia. She attended Albany State College in Albany GA. Agnes liked to keep her mind busy, she loved her crossword puzzles as one of her hobbies to pass time. She enjoyed mentoring children. She loved directing them in the correct manner. Growing up she was a mom to all kids around, and any problems they had they knew that they could trust Agnes. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 49.5 years, Ernest J. Crimes of Saginaw, MI; four sons, Ernest Jr. and Anquonn Crimes both of Saginaw, MI, Keagan Crimes, Las Vegas, NV and Adrian Crimes, Saginaw, MI; one step-daughter, LakRisha Smith, Saginaw, MI; eight grandchildren, Eshaun Brison, Keondria Brison, Elijah Crimes, Vanessa Lockwood-Crimes, Mya Gledhill, Makinna Beckman, Meyson and Marcellus Perez; four great-grandchildren; Markail D. Smith, Xzayvier Crimes-Cruz, England J. Crimes and Lenox Lee Crimes; one sister, Geraldine Laney-London, Powder Spring, GA; two brothers, Calvin Laney, Preston, GA and Raymond Laney, Colorado, Springs, CO; 42 nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles; seven sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Hill, Earlene, Marilyn and Brenda Crimes, Annie Harrell and Dorothy (Jordan) Laney all of Preston, GA, and Lena (Wilson) Laney, Colorado Springs, CO; brothers-in-law, Jimmie Lee, Willie G., Charles M., Ronnie A. and Reginald Crimes; special cousin, Curtis Johnson, and a slew of other cousins; many other relatives and friends including special friend Lavonne Landers. Mrs. Crimes was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Minnie Laney; brothers, Robert Laney, Jr. Melvin Laney; sister, Leona-Laney-Lenoir; brothers-in-law, Clifford Harrell, Roosevelt Lenoir and Barnett London. The family extends special thanks to Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home and T.V. Williams Funeral Home, Richland, GA. Visitation will take place from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Mrs. Crimes will be taken to T.V. Williams Funeral Home, 233 Milliken Ave, Richland, GA 31825. Rev. Jimmie lee Crimes, Jr. will officiate with a graveside service on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Poplar Springs Cemetery, Preston, GA, 31824.
