Mr. Albert Thomas Bond

Mr. Albert Thomas Bond, a devoted loving father, cherished grandfather, and faithful servant, departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering faith. Albert was born December 1, 1942 in Brownsville, Tennessee to the proud parents of Albert and Marie (Harden) Bond. He passed away on February 16, 2025 at the age of 82 years. He grew up with strong values of family perseverance and faith which shaped the remarkable man he became. After completing high school, he set out to build a future, moving to Saginaw, Michigan in 1960. Determined and hardworking he began his career at General Motors in 1961. However; duty soon called, and in 1964 he was drafted into the United States Army where he served honorably until 1966. His bravery in service earned him the prestigious Purple Heart, a testament to his courage and sacrifice for his country. Before beginning his journey with his wife, Beatrice, Albert was blessed with his first child, Secily. Later, he met and fell in love with Beatrice and on November 30, 1968 , they were united in Holy Matrimony. Together they built a beautiful life and welcomed two children, Tara and Terrance. Albert was a devoted father always providing love, guidance and protection to his children. His legacy of love extended to his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Albert was a man of deep faith and service. As a dedicated member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, he served faithfully in multiple capacities including as a trustee, a member of the Male Chorus, a part of the Security Ministry and as a committed layman. His steadfast devotion to his church and community was evident in his every action. Albert worked diligently at General Motors for over 40 years before enjoying a well-earned retirement. Even in retirement his heart for service remained strong. He gave back to his community by volunteering at local elementary schools through the Adopt-a-Grandparent Program and serving as an assistant bus monitor, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children he cared for. Beyond his work and service. Albert found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid sports fan, always ready to cheer on his favorite teams. His love for bowling was unmatched, and he spent many joyful hours at the lanes, honing his skills and enjoying friendly competition. Mr. Albert Thomas Bond lived a life of honor, integrity and love. His kindness, wisdom and unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of is family, friend and friends and all those he inspired. His lessons, his faith and his love live on in all of us. Mr. Bond leaves behind his beloved wife, Beatrice; his children, Secily Wilson, Tara Bond and Terrence (Alicia) Bond; grandchildren, Christiana Orr, Tatiyana, Terrance, Jr., Tyler, LaBre Cameron, Taylor, and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Jaxyn Vickers, Amari Smith, Kimberly Anne Bond and Sebastian Phillips; brothers & sisters, Velma (Bobby) Emmerson, Helen Davis(William), Virgie Bond, Emma Atwater, Hubert (Mary) Bond, Kenneth Bond (Lorraine); loving in-laws, Tena Bond, Mattie Hardin and Joe Hardin; a host of extended family, dear friends and his cherished Mount Olive Baptist Church family. He is now reunited with his parents, Albert and Marie Bond and his brother, Willie Bond. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Mt. Olive Institutional Baptist Church, 1114 N. 6th St., Saginaw, MI 48601, Rev. Joshua Daniels, Pastor and Dr. Marvin T. Smith will officiate. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and the family will be present from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
