Mr. Albert Charles Whittington Jr.

Mr. Albert Charles "June" Whittington, Jr. was born in Saginaw, Michigan December 3, 1954 to Albert and Leola Whittington. He made his transition at his home on June 9, 2017 at the age of 62 years. He was employed with Elias Big Boy Restaurant for 32 years. Mr. Whittington served as Trustee at New Beginnings Life Changing Ministries of Saginaw, MI. He was a “Gentle Giant” who loved auto detailing. June was humble, and blessed with a quiet spirit. He was a person who would always give a helping hand to anyone that needed him. He will be missed by those who knew him. Albert leaves to cherish many memories, his loving wife, Connie Whittington; beautiful God fearing mother, Leola Whittington; two daughters, Shanda and Deidra Blacksher, all of Saginaw, MI; three step-daughters, Nikia Coleman, Terria Hilliard and Nitashia (Terry) Simmons, Saginaw, MI; nine grandchildren, Jalen Clayton , Houston, TX, September (Devon) Riley of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Arie Clayton, J’Vier Jones, August Hunt (his pride and joy), A’Nilah Ortiz, Kasin Simmons, Tamarria Myles, Kyrie Simmons, all of Saginaw, MI; eight sisters, Thressa of Saginaw, MI, Brenda (Sam) Murrell, Tallulah, Louisiana, Pamblier, Clara (William) Artis, Flint, MI; very special sister, Debra Ann and sisters, Rosalind & Evelyn and special sister, Sylvia (Antwaine) Sanders, all of Saginaw, MI; four brothers, Larnell (Paula) Whittington of Bessemer, AL, Dave, Dewayne (Cynthia) Whittington and Kevin; two sisters-in-law, Bridget Baber and Sondra (Pastor Otis) Dickens; special aunt, Mattie (Frank) Moore; a special nephew, William Whittington and special niece, LaKeisha Whittington, all of Saginaw, a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Whittington was preceded in death by his father, Albert Charles Whittington, Sr.; grandmother, Arie Tillman; mother-in-law, Cather Lue Baber; sister-in-law, Carmen Whittington; one brother-in-law, Terry Rush and one great-niece, Makeya Hutson. The family would like to express a special thank you to Covenant Cancer Care Center and Dr. Binu Malhotra, M.D. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Wolverine State Baptist Headquarters, 615 South Jefferson Avenue. Pastor Otis Dickens will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI Sunday from 2:00 until 8: 00 p.m. The family will be present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. to greet friends.
