Alberta Myles

Mother Alberta Myles, our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, went home to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the age of 87. Mother Alberta Myles, affectionately known as Mother Myles and Auntie Houl, was born on August 12, 1927 in Greenville, Mississippi to the late Taylor Wilson and Josephine Wilson-Franklin. Alberta was the oldest of (5) five children (1 boy, 4 girls). She was saved, sanctified and Holy Ghost filled at an early age of 12, attending The Lilly of the Valley C.O.G.I.C. in Greenville, Mississippi under the leadership of Pastor O. S. Sheard. Mother Alberta was joined in holy matrimony to Clarence Myles on June 14, 1946 in Springtown, Mississippi. Out of that union came (9) nine children (5 boys; 4 girls). Moving to Saginaw, Michigan, they joined Harris Temple C.O.G.I.C. In 1955, she became a member of All Nations Prayer Tower C.O.G.I.C., where she held positions in the fields of Sewing Circle, Youth Choir Supervisor/Mom, Women’s Dept., Senior Choir Member and Supporter of District 8, a faithful supporter of the Sunday School, YPWW and Prayer & Bible Band. She also worked with Mo. Viola Duckett with Vacation Bible School. Mother Myles was a homemaker, great chef, seamstress, gardener, and loved flowers and plants. She got joy out of beautifying her home with what-not’s and collecting items from her grandchildren. She was a Godly woman of great wisdom, had a gentle spirit, a caring heart and a comforting smile. Her favorite scriptures were Psalm 15 and Psalm 55:6. Mother Myles loved her family, her dogs and fish, and was a caring wife, mother and grandmother. She spent all her time loving and encouraging her children, grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and every youth that came in contact with her. She was a mother to all. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Deacon Clarence Myles; five sons and 2 daughters, Ivory (Michelle) of Columbus, Ohio, Charles, Pastor Jerry (Rosemarie), Dexter, Clarence D., Doris (Terrance) Humes and Barbara, all of Saginaw, Michigan. Grandchildren, DonJudis, Charleston, Taryn, Ligaya, Resheda, Kenyetta, Kiera, Jamilah, Omari, Darius, Lil’ Jerry, Jalen, Dexter Jr., Terrance Humes III, and Shidana Humes; great-grandchildren, Rayshawn, Dwayne, Ja’Vaille, Deanna, Dontae, D’Andre, DonJudis, Jr., BriAnne and Distiny; a loving sister, Goldie Harris; brother, Roosevelt Wilson of Saginaw, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many, many god-children. She was greeted at the heavenly gate by two loving daughters, an infant and Hazel Myles-Butler; a daughter-in-law, Anna Myles; a grandson, Eric Hunter; and two sisters, Juanita Myles and Josephine Blair. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the All Nations Prayer Tower C.O.G.I.C, 608 South 20th Street. Supt. Louis Bishop will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, on Monday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
