Mr. Andrew Scott

Mr. Andrew J. Scott transitioned from this life to eternal life on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the age of 75 years. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan on August 26, 1945 to Mary Dell Fisher and Chester Scott. He married Dorothy Weems on May 29, 1971 in Saginaw, Michigan. Mr. Scott was a member of Christ Community Church. He attended Saginaw Public Schools before being drafted into the United States Army where he completed his high school requirements. Mr. Scott served two tours of duty during The Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge. He retired from General Motors-Delphi in 1999 after 34 years of employment. Mr. Scott enjoyed being with his family, dancing, singing, playing cards, playing pool or simply just sitting in his recliner watching WWE. He was known as Poppa Goldmouth, Poppi and Uncle Goldie. He loved his family and was known to move mountains for his grandchildren. Mr. Scott leaves to cherish many memories, his wife of 50 years, Dorothy; son, Andrew Scott; daughters, Carla Jones, Sabrina Scott and Kizzie (Sherman) Bell; a special niece(who was like a daughter)Sophia Clark; 12 grandchildren, Keiandria (Jermaine) Dickerson, Keairra Jones, Andrew Scott, Eric Scott, Sharmese Gibson, Bre’Onca Scott, Angel Scott, KeVontae Scott, Antorion Scott, Ajah Scott, Shermonae Bell and Joaquin Vargas; 23 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Shontele Scott and son-in-law, Vincent Donald; brothers, John Lewis and James Lewis; sister, Priscilla Smith; brothers-in-law, Robert Manley, Louis Weems, Jr., Ricky Weems; sisters-in-law, Ruby McGee, Evelyn Weems, Juanita Weems, Sandra (Daniel) Chaffer, Deborah Weems and Rolonda Walker; several nieces, nephews and cousins; godchildren, Tamika, Jermaine, Elissa and Tamiya Jones, special friends, Marvin Hemphill and L.C. Turner. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his granddaughter, India Mackey; his parents, Mary Fisher and Chester Scott; sisters, Juanita Baniel, Mary Lee Garrett, Annie Pearl Johnson and Alma Jean Manley; brother, Robert Daniel Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Ruby Weems; brother-in-law, Willie (Peter) Weems and sister-in-law, Annie Kelly. Special thank you to his wife for her loving devotion and caring of her husband and to Kareen Weems for the special care she provided. His caregiver, Crystal Beasley of Dobson Healthcare and Staffing; Jeanne Bender and the Gold Team at The Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center and Covenant Healthcare ICU Nurses. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Asst. Pastor Audrey Parker will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday with a family hour from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
