April Chevelle Frances Johnson

God called one of his chosen angels to come home. April Chevelle Frances Johnson answered the call of her Heavenly Father on April 8, 2013. April was born March 2, 1981 to Richard W. Johnson and Patricia Ann Ross-Johnson. She attended Saginaw High School. She was a Christian child of God. As a child, April was a member of the New Life Missionary Baptist Church. April relocated to Winden, GA in 2009, where she was employed at Dollar General. She was a very outgoing person who loved being with her children and spending time with her family and friends. Some of her favorite past-times were singing, dancing and playing cards. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, 2 daughters, Chevelle Johnson of Winden, GA and Mercadis M. Vann of Saginaw MI; 1 son, Joseph K. Vann II of Winden GA; her father, Richard (Linda) Johnson, 1 brother, Kirk (Michelle) Johnson, 1 sister, Ashanta McMillan, 2 stepbrothers, Eddie Shedrick and Martel Riley, all of Saginaw MI; 1 stepsister, Latreece (Dion) Taylor of Ypsilanti, MI; her fiancée, Joseph Vann of Winden, GA; special aunts and uncles, Wilhemina Ross and Linda Pritchett, both of Saginaw, MI, William Ross of Tell City, IN, Wendell (Audrera) Johnson of Saginaw, MI; 6 other aunts; 3 other uncles; 3 great-aunts; very special cousins, Ricky Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, Angie Swinton of Saginaw, MI and Little Willie Ross of Lansing, MI; 8 nieces and nephews, Kierra Johnson of Hampton, VA, Danasha, KenJahnay, Kania, Kamia, Demetrious, Kirk Jr. and Kershawn Johnson, all of Saginaw, MI; 5 step-nieces and nephews, Dionne and Liyah of Ypsilanti, MI, Breonna, Bre’Naizhea, Jatavion and Marquavion, all of Saginaw, MI; step-grandmother, Rose Coleman of Saginaw, MI; godparents, Evelyn Culberson and Perry McFarland, 3 god-children, Rakaim Petterson, Jaiden McMillan and Aniya Webb, and 1 god-sister, Katrina Culberson, all of Saginaw, MI, 2 god-brothers, DeMarkus Stuckey of Saginaw, MI and Anthony Stuckey of Cleveland OH; and a host of other cousins, family members and friends, including special friends, Kizzy Hayes, Nikie Johnson and Tiffany Petterson, all of Saginaw, MI. April was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Ann Ross-Johnson; grandparents, William and Mattie Ross and Richard and Christine Johnson; great-grandparents, Willie and Ethel Spencer; 2 uncles, Willie Ross and Henry Pritchett, Jr.; 3 aunts, Delois Johnson, Geraldine Browder and Voncile Pierce; and 1 cousin, Maurice Burnett. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Wolverine State Baptist Headquarters, 615 South Jefferson Avenue. Pastor Rufus Bradley will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
