Mr. Arthur James Berryhill

Mr. Arthur James Berryhill was born June 10, 1948 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Harold Allen and Dolly Mae Berryhill. He passed away at the age of 75 years. He was born and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and was a graduate of the Ypsilanti School System. Arthur went off to serve in the U.S. Army then later resided in Saginaw, Michigan. He loved to fish and spend time with family and friends. He looked forward to going to the annual brother and sister baseball BBQ as well as the Cruise Car Show in Pontiac, MI. Arthur loved taking his great-grands to the store and getting lots of candy. He was greatly loved and appreciated by his family and friends. He’ll truly be missed. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 22 years, Cathie Berryhill; children, Russel Moore, Teresa and Richard Allen, Michael, Sr. (Toni) and Melissa Berryhill, Melissa Nelson, Pejai Fortune, Ronell and Donell Mullens; grandchildren that he raised, Terry Fifer, Jr. and Andre McQueen, Jr.; special children, Henry, Terrance and Marvin Allen; step-children, Lakesha Garrett, Jermaine McCulloh, Andrea Ballentin, Larry Gilyard, Willie Lawson and KeAndre Malone; 44 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Sharlet Allen, Mia Allen Williams, Vickie Allen Ross, Camillya Allen and Rowena Allen Cosby; four brothers, Harold Allen, Jr., Kevin, David and Charles Allen; god-children, Quentin Gaines, Yolanda Gaines, Buddy Vine and Christine Steward; great-granddaughters, Shaniah and Makyla Goodwine, Sakoyia Hendrix and Angel Fairris; sister-in-law, Noreen Smoot; brother-in-law, Roy (Orita) McCulloh; many other relatives and friends including special friend, John McDaniel; Mr. Arthur James Berryhill was preceded in death by his mother, Dolly Mae Berryhill; father, Harold Allen, Sr.; son, Arthur James Berryhill, Jr.; grandparents, Richard Berryhill and Rosa Lee Bishop Berryhill; sisters, Dorcus L. Allen and Kathleen Allen Pittman and Kimberly Allen Pitman; brother, Michael Allen and stepson, Peter Cedell Martin. The family would like to express special thanks to House of Prayer, Faith Charity, Covenant Hospice, VA Hospice Dept. 22, 2nd Floor, Christine Steward and Henrietta Billings, Angel Farris, Walter McCall and Little Walter McCall. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 2233 King Rd., Saginaw, MI 48601, Pastor Walter McCall will officiate. Interment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
