Ms. Barbara "Barb" Ann Blackmon

Ms. Barbara Ann Blackmon “Barb” was born September 8, 1956 in Magnolia, Arkansas to Velma Williams and Tony Siler. She passed away at Ascension St. Mary’s ICU on September 9, 2023 at the age of 67 years. The family moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1958. She attended Saginaw Public Schools. She became a proud graduate of St. Joseph High School in 1977. She retired from Dots Caring Center after twenty years and was also a sponsor for NA, AA and CA for over 30 years. She fellowshipped with members of the organization. She was known as “The Queen of the pinned-up tacos” and for making delicious hot water cornbread, and inviting family and friends over to enjoy. “Barb” was an avid bowler. It was nothing for her to bowl 300 a game. For more than 15 years she won several first and second place trophies. She also enjoyed other hobbies such as Bingo, Pokeno, Dominos, Spades and a good chess game. Barbara was outspoken and loved been fashionable. She leaves to cherish many precious memories, three sons, Douglas M. Williams (Tushay), Queens, NY, Christopher H. Townsend (Snookie) of Saginaw, MI, and James Baldridge (Mookie) of Austin, TX; one daughter, Tamarian L. (Kitty) Adekoya of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Chalise Townsend and Ahmad Townsend, both of Houston, TX, Douglas M. Williams, Jr. and Jasmine Williams, both of Queens, NY, Christopher H. Townsend, Jr. and Kelis Townsend, both of Saginaw, MI; two sisters, Grace (Nate) Coney and Colleen Smith, both of Saginaw, MI; one brother, Eric Williams, Saginaw, MI; one aunt, Jessie Mae Burley, Dallas, TX; one niece, Antionette; eight nephews, Arthur, Antwan, Brent, Desmond, Esmond, Demetius, Teric and Samuel; lots of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Beverly Sanders-Lynch and Diane Simmons. Barbara Ann Blackmon was a preceded in death by her parents, Velma R. Williams and Tony Siler; grandparents, Coriner Phillip and John Alexander; aunts, Rena Moore, Norma Jean Hampton and Sue Moore; uncle, Andrew Baker; friend, Walt Canty; best friend, Ruth Swift; other relatives too many to name. The family extends thanks to Ascension St. Mary’s ICU Unit, DaVita Dialysis and Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home Funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI, 48607. Pastor Johnie F. Edwards Sr. will officiate. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
