Mrs. Barbara "Bobie" Jean Wright

Barbara Jean (Byrd) Wright was born October 10, 1949 in Izola, Mississippi the daughter of William and Mary Lou (Wilson) Byrd. She passed away June 4, 2019 at the age of 69 years. At the age of six years old, her family moved to Saginaw, Michigan. Barbara met and became the loving wife of Mr. Lunnie Wright for 45 years. She was a longtime member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church and was a blessing to the various ministries in which she participated. Bobie was a member of TrueVine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Paul E. Broaddus for many years until her passing. She had a passion for helping people. Barbara worked as the Secretary at First Ward Community Center. And later, she and Lunnie relocated to the Shreveport, LA Truck and Bus Plant: he on the assembly line and she as a secretary. They returned to Saginaw, MI after retirement to help take care of her mom and dad. Barbara was a classy lady who had a unique sense of style and a great shopping technique. Mrs. Wright leaves to cherish many memories her husband, Lunnie Wright; four children, Truffeian Henderson, Jeanenne Henderson, (Jimmy), Robert Henderson and Tyrone (Tangela) Henderson; grandchildren, Akeem, Sr. Amaun, Ja’Carri, Ja’Cobee, Ja’Bree, Jonathan, A’nteal, Sr., Demario, Sha’Tavia, Sha’Toya, Tiirus, Kiara and Lamar Henderson; great-grandchildren, Akeem, Jr., Amiyah, Ja’Vone, Tristian Henderson, Adonis, A’nteal, Jr.,; sisters, Helena (Curtis) Robinson, Bertha (Tom) Jones, Mildred Byrd, Darlene Byrd Young and Minnie Green; brothers, William (Renee) Byrd, Jr., Sharman (Annie) Byrd and Terry Byrd; aunt, Sara (Frank) Green; sisters-in-law, Rachel Hill, Ernistine Wright and Yvonne Wright: brothers-in-law, John (Karen) Wright, Early (Carline) Wright, Richard (Mary) Wright, James (Mary) Wright and Jeff Wright; god-mother, Mattie Langston, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, Linda Pipkins, Ann Sullivan, Geri Mack, including special mom, Mama Harry. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Deacon William and Mary Byrd; brother, Robert Byrd; sister, Dorothy Byrd; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Henderson; grandparents, Alberta Johnson and John Westly Johnson; her mother and father-in-law, Earlier and Georgia Wright. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019 at TrueVine Missionary Baptist Church, 2930 Janes St., Saginaw, MI 48601.Pastor Paul E. Broaddus will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
