Ms. Barbara June Webb-Greene

Barbara June Webb-Greene, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 9th, 2018. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan to Bartley and Greek Lee. Barbara was the third of five children. Barbara loved learning. After she graduated from Saginaw High School, she went on to study French, Latin, Spanish and American Sign Language. She also pursued her interests in a variety of hobbies and leisure learning activities. She was a staunch supporter of her children’s education and sometimes acted as their editor as they wrote their college papers. She chose a career at the Veterans Administration Hospital where she eventually became a supervisor in the Dietetic Department. Barbara worked there for 32 years meeting the nutritional needs of those who served in the military. Barbara has been a member of Word of Faith International Church since 1988 where she played the piano, read announcements, served as nurse to the pastor, and was a member of the hospitality committee. She later was honored with the position of Head Church Mother on the Mother’s Board. She often said how happy she was to have a wonderful life. She loved attending church and bible study. She loved to spend time with her family and to travel. Her travels were within the USA as well as to Canada, Central America, France, Switzerland, Germany, and England. She also enjoyed participating in various activities in her residential community. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Karen Webb of Stafford, Texas and Jacqueline Bettis of East Lansing, Michigan; five grandchildren: Christopher (Rebecca) Bettis, Rachael (Jeffrey) Marlow, Amber Webb, Micah (Davionne) Webb, and Matthew Webb; seven great-grandchildren: Journi, Jayden, and Jhoeli Marlow, Jayton, Zion and Matthew Jr. Webb and Kasen Dixon; special niece, Leslie Bacon; beloved cousin, Dueane Hansberger; cherished friend, Herbert Williams; and many other relatives and friends including her Word of Faith Church family and community of friends at Wellspring Independent Living. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bartley E. Lee and Greek Kelly Lee; two husbands, Major J. Webb and William H. Greene; her siblings, Bartley E. Lee, Robert A. Lee, Carmalia N. Kimble and Delores D. Pearson; and special niece, Robin Pearson. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Word of Faith International Ministries, 500 North Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607. Dr. Byron C. Hayes will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
