Bevelyn Bradley

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2007 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 535 Cathay St., Rev. P. David Saunders, Pastor. Rev. Camille D. Patton will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Browne's Mortuary, 441 N. Jefferson Avenue where the family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. for the Family Hour. Bevelyn B. (Hightower) Bradley went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 19, 2007 at her home, with her husband, daughter, grandchildren and sisters at her side. Bevelyn was born on May 16, 1947 to Julius and Thelma (Griffin) Hightower in Saginaw, MI. Bevelyn worked for the City of Saginaw for over 30 years, beginning and ending in the City Clerk's Office, first as a clerk-typist and retiring as City Clerk in 1995. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church and served on the Stewardess Board No. 3 and on the Bethel Federal Credit Union as the Loan Officer. She also was a member of the City of Saginaw Municipal Credit Union Board of Directors for many years. She was also a member of the Mahogany Club of Saginaw, MI. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Ernest L. Bradley; daughter, Rev. Camille D. Patton of Chandler, AZ; step-daughter, Dericka L. Williams (James) of Mesa, AZ; two grandchildren, Delbert V.E. Patton and Mia Symone Patton, both of Chandler, AZ; two sisters, Cucecil E. Banks and Cheri M. Smith, both of Saginaw, MI. She also leaves five nephews, Walter Banks, Jr. Victor D. Banks, Julius E. Banks, Marc B. Banks and W. Gregory Smith; two nieces, Latoya Hightower of Bay City, MI; one special niece, Ericka M. Taylor of Saginaw, MI., one special grand-nephew, Julian T. Taylor; three aunts, Annie McCarty of Grayson, LA, Viola Banks of Saginaw, MI and Ernestine Hightower of Cleveland, OH and numerous cousins and in-laws. She also leaves an adopted sister, Odie (Ivan) Pierce of Saginaw, MI; two god-sisters, Dr. Roslyn (Adolph) McQueen and Yvette Wofford, both of Saginaw, MI; four special friends, Venita McNair, Gloria Culpepper, Carol Unkel and Leslie Weaver. Mrs. Bradley was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Thelma Hightower; brother, Leonard J. Hightower; brother-in-law, Walter Banks, Sr. and godmother, Ruby L. Wofford. The family would like to express special thanks to the Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice Care, the Oasis Truck Club and to the Mahogany Club.
