Brady Mahone,

July 27, 1930 ~ January 17, 2010 Family hour will take place at 12:00 noon Monday, January 25, 2010 at Browne's Mortuary, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., with the funeral commencing at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Henry C. Smiith will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Brady Jim Mahone, Sr., the son of the late Jim and Lucy Mahone, was born on July 27, 1930 in Goshen, AL. Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away Sunday morning, January 17, 2010 at the age of 79 years. Brady attended school in Alabama until he was 15 years old. In 1945, after the death of his mother, he moved to New York City where he worked and completed his basic education. He served in the U. S. Army. In 1954, Brady married Celia Holmes and moved to Saginaw, MI. Their 46 year union was blessed with a son, Brady J. Mahone, Jr. Brady Sr. retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. As a young man, the "baby" was interested in racing cars, taking long trips in his mobile home, and playing cards. He was actively involved in school programs, sponsoring and mentoring many youngsters. As health failed, Brady enjoyed watching poker, news and sports, talking on the "hookup" with nieces and nephews, and driving his "still standing RV" to anywhere the family reunion might be held. He will be remembered for his resonant bass voice, care for his family, and love for the children. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of eight years, Patricia Mahone; one son, Brady J. Mahone, Jr. of Saginaw, MI; daughters, Rosalind (Eugene) Moses of Saginaw, MI, Tia Caphart of Ft. Hood, TX; sister, Fanny Foster of Montgomery, AL; eight grandchildren, Brandi, Brady III, Brandon, Brian, all of Lithia, GA, Courtney, Gregory, Camera and Tiara; seven great-grandchildren, seven brothers-in-law, seven sisters-in-law, special nieces, Darcell (Mike) Pypkowski, Campanella (Wade) Johnson and Martha McKinnon "Mute"; special nephews, F.D. Madison, Brady McKinnon, Larry McKinnon, Brandon Pypkowski "Big Foot", Malik Jeter and Audie Jeter; and a host of other relatives and friends. Brady was preceded in death by his first wife, Celia; eight brothers, Derrick, Jus, Lawrence, Nick, David, Jacob, Lazurus and Grant; six sisters, Lucille, Alassie, Ethel, Jimmie, Orletha and Gertrude; and special buddies, James "Lil Bro" Madison and Rex McCleod.
