Mr. Burkas Early Williams

Burkas was born on September 28, 1946 to David, Sr. and Argather (Copeland) Williams in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Burkas Early Williams moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1961 with his parents and family. He attended Saginaw Public Schools, graduating in 1966 from Arthur Hill Technical High School. Burkas was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was self-employed as a repairman/handyman. Burkas loved the Lord and studied his word daily until his illness. He had a heart and deep love for his family. He paid his tithes to Providence Baptist Church in Vicksburg, MS and supported other church ministries and organizations. Burkas had a heart of giving to family, friends and others. He gave over 100 KJV Bibles to family, friends, nursing home residents and staff. He truly was concerned about getting the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ out to the world. Reginald Cameron; other nieces, Marchelle Holmes, Deloise Wolfe, Saginaw, Emma Anderson, Junction City, KS, Yolanda (Andre) Cottrell, Kanapolis, NC, Kirsen (Mitchell) McKeithan, Durham, NC, Kylese Hammond, Charlotte, NC, Aleta (Roderick) Crawford, West Point, MS, Kimberly Rhodman, Vicksburg, MS, Erna (Durwyn) Duncan, Indianapolis, IN; other nephews, Robert (Teresa) Holmes, Charlotte, NC, Theodore Braddock, Greenville, SC, Timothy (Mia) Braddock, San Antonio, TX, David (Rebecca) Williams, Ivan Wolfe, Verlon Hammond, David Williams, Scott Williams, Micahael Singleton, Saginaw, Alphounce (Shannon) Wolfe, Phoenix, AZ, Minister Kareem (Dawn) Hammond, Sr., Jalen Hammond, Concord, NC and friends, Catherine Hall, James Porter, Edgar Bradley and Jerry Hunt. Burkas was preceded in death by his parents, David, Sr. and Argather (Copeland) Williams; sisters, Iver Lee Rhodman, Evangelist Scottie Wolfe, Lafolyette Hammond; brothers, David Williams, Jr. and Donald Williams; nephew, Eddie Rhodman, Jr.; niece, Chevon Hammond, Leslie Dawn Braddock and Shannon Anderson and best friend, Chris Harris. The family extends “Thank you” to his doctors at the Veterans Hospital, Dr. B. Njuyen and the Purple Team, Dr. L. Zukerman, Dr. DeBari, Covenant Wound Clinic, Covenant Medical Center Harrison 3rd floor South staff, Covenant Medical Center Cooper ICU staff and Evans & Browne's Funeral Home and staff Funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Reverend Reginald Cameron will officiate with interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S, Washington Avenue. Visitation will be take place from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
