Pastor Camie Frazier

Pastor Camie Frazier was born on April 19, 1931 in Utica, Mississippi to the parents of Collins and Cora Frazier. He gained his wings on April 17, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Leaving the south in 1963 as a cotton picker, he moved to Saginaw, Michigan to ensure a better life for he and his family. Pastor Camie Frazier was a man of God. He accepted Christ at an early age. Pastor Frazier was the shepherd at Holy Grove Missionary Baptist Church from which he retired. He later became a faithful member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James Hodge. Pastor Frazier enjoyed spending time with his family, ministering about God. He had a special love for his grandchildren and great-grands. He loved to sit and read the bible. When he walked into the room, his smile lit up the whole room. He loved receiving phone calls from his sister-in-law, nieces and nephews from out of town. He enjoyed going to the Marie E. Davis Center, shooting pool, playing dominoes and spades with family. His favorite shopping store was the Thrift Store. He loved cooking, playing his guitar and the harmonica. He leaves to cherish many memories his daughter, Marilyn Favorite-Harris and Jeanette Favorite; two sons, Cammie Favorite and Dion (Fredricka) Lee; LaDetra that he raised as his own daughter; grandkids, Taronda Southward, David Favorite, Kyomonique and Armand Berry, Zhan’e Favorite, Tory (Putrice) Hopskin, Dominique (Coatis) Beechum-Jones, Deloria (Branden) Beechum-Ackler, Jamele (Katie) Favorite, Jamal Hughes, MarChare Canada, LaKisha, Timmie, and D’Quan Favorite, JaMesha (Darios) Mortant, Kenton Dean Nicholas, Jamnay Green, Dion Lee, Jr. Savion Coleman, Kedarion West, Amarie and MyQueen Lee, Angeleez Lee, and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Handsome (Ethel) Frazier and Charles Buckner, Cary, MS; sisters, Martha Sherman, Ernestine Lewis, Alterine Frazier, all of Saginaw, MI, Lela Ann Frazier, Atlanta, GA, Claudia (Luke) Davis, Marrero, LA, Annie Mae Montgomery, Cary, MS; a host of nieces and nephews including special nieces, Geraldine Frazier and Maryann Carter; special nephews, Jerry (Octavious) Frazier. He loved his niece Donna Frazier and sister-in-law, May Francis so much, especially when they called him from Louisiana. He also leaves the mother of his children, special friend Delores Favorite; his church family and a host of other relatives and friends. Pastor Frazier was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Johnny Frazier, Jeffrey Favorite and Lionell; one sister, Lula Mae Terrell; brothers, Johnny B., Jerry Lee, Deacon Esaw, Jacob, Joe T., Carl C. Frazier and Stanley Frazier; grandson, Dondre Martin; great-grandson, De’Quavious R. Southward and De’Tarion L. Favorite; a brother-in-law, Frederick Sherman; son-in-law, Carl Harris; a special sister-in-law, Doris Frazier. The family would like to extend special thanks to Pastor Hodge and the St. John Missionary Baptist Church congregation; Comfort Care, Pace, Mitch (the barber), Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home, the staff at Covenant HealthCare and Dr. Mirza Hussain. Pastor James Hodge will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw.
