Mr. Carl Erwing Morris

Pastor Carl Morris passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at the age of 66 years. He was born January 30, 1951 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Henry and Annie Mae (Patterson) Morris, Sr. Pastor Carl Morris graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1969 and as a Booker T. Warrior he played on the varsity basketball team. Pastor served four years in the Air Force Reg AF as a Sergeant. He was a Material Facility Specialist and Shipping & Receiving Foreman. Carl was based in RAF Bentwater England, Suffolk, England as a stock clerk. He received an Honorable Discharge. Carl then went to Jackson State University, Jackson, MS for one year and continued his education at Delta College where he received an Associate Degree. He worked for the Saginaw School District for nine years and worked ten years at Dura Glass Roofing doing shipping and receiving. Carl became a Pastor during 2003-2017 over “Complete Man Ministries”. He minister at the Saginaw County Jail and the Prison ministries for 20 years. The life of Pastor Carl E. Morris can be attested by his love for the Lord and the love for his family. Pastor Carl Morris leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife, Mary F. Morris of Saginaw, MI; son, Marcus V; three step-sons, Darryl Nash (Amy) of Jacksonville, FL, Glen Nash of Ocean View, VA and Michael (Crystal) Nash of Saginaw, MI; two step-daughters, Betty (LW, Jr.) Smith and Cathy Nash, both of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren, Sharda, Delvin, Kevin, Darryl, Jr., Kelsey, Kaitlin, Michaela, Micah and Eryn Nash; two brothers, Joseph R. Morris of Mattawan, MI and David H. Morris of Memphis, TN; sister, Pinkie Greer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley and Ricky (Billie Jean) Humphries, Betty (Joe) Gardner, Shirley and Felicidad Humphries; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Pastor Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Annie Mae Morris, Sr.; grandson, Raheem J. Nash; two sisters, Mary Maguehi and Minnie Mae Morris; two brothers, Herman Chatman and Henry Morris, Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Eddie and Ethel Humphries; brothers-in-law, Louis, Bob and Corbett Humphries; sister-in-law, Marva Patterson. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Veterans Hospital 2nd Floor staff, Doctors, case worker, Pam and Chaplain Perry. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 2615 Williamson Road, Pastor Otis Washington, Host Pastor. Chaplain Perry will officiate with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48442. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607 on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
