Mr. Carl Allen Taylor, "CT"

On July 25, 2016, a very loving, caring and devoted man, Mr. Carl “CT” Allen Taylor passed away at home after living a very rewarding and extremely blessed life. When he passed away, he was only 67 years old and had been retired for 17 years. He was the son of Aubry and Nellie Bertha (Carter) Taylor who migrated to Saginaw from Shreveport, LA. Being raised in Saginaw, Mr. Taylor attended Saginaw Public Schools graduating from Saginaw High in 1967. After high school he was employed by General Motors Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry after which he enlisted in the United States Army and fought in 1968 during the Vietnam War. During his tour of duty he received a Purple Heart and by the Grace of God he lived to tell about it. After the military, Mr. Taylor returned to the Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry, Division, G M. It was in September of 1972 that he began his career with the Saginaw Police Department as a Patrolman. He continued his education by receiving his Associates Degree from Delta College and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Saginaw Valley State University. Mr. Taylor was promoted to Sergeant in 1985 and later retired on February 27, 1999 after 27 years of serving and protecting the residents of Saginaw, MI. Just hours after retiring, Mr. Taylor relocated to Las Vegas, NV, returning often to visit with family and friends. Mr. Taylor's memories will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 45 1/2 years, Stella (Brown) Taylor of Saginaw, MI; one son, Steven L. Taylor and his sons, Roman Allen Alderman, Logan James Taylor and Mason Storm Taylor all of Saginaw, MI; four god-sons, Elliot Badger, Taj McMillon, Brian "LB" Booker and Evan Booker all in Saginaw, MI; one god-daughter, Stephanie Hoskins of Detroit, MI; two sisters, Elvira York and Gloria Scott both of Saginaw, MI; his mother-in-law, Estella (Allen) Brown; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Griffin and Exie (Robert) Robinson; three brothers-in-Law, Clarence (Brenda) Brown, James Brown of Saginaw, MI and Bill Brown of Grand Blanc, MI and a host of other relatives, friends and extended family members. Mr. Taylor was so very proud of his posse of super special friends listed in no particular order, Woodrow Forte and Raymond Bentley, Dave Jones and Alton Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Brian Booker, Addison Burton, John Moten Jr., Ernie Bradley, Thomas Casey, Jr., Steve Martin, Nate Woods, Walter Meeks and John Williams all of Saginaw, MI and Ray Taylor of Southfield, MI. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers Henry Samuel and Aubry Taylor; one brother-in-law, Clarence York, Sr. and one nephew, Clarence York, Jr. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, 104 South 10th Street. Pastor Roy Manning will officiate with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Tuesday from 2:00- 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
