Mr. Caryle Thomas Russell

Mr. Caryle Russell, Affectionally known as “Popcorn,” was born July 28, 1946 to Rayfield and Hazel Russell. He passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024 at the age of 78 years. Caryle loved his wife Gloria whom he affectionally called ‘Sweet”, they were married over 50 years. She preceded him in death. He was employed with General Motors Corporation over 35 years. He also enjoyed working with his hands. His other favorite past times included watching Bruce Lee movies, listening to jazz music, playing the piano, chess and shooting pool. He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Dr. Carlotta E. Maneice (Dr. Winford “Mack”) Huntsville, AL, Fontella L. Russell-Smith (Matthew), Saginaw, MI and Nintasha “Tasha” Hayes, Bossier, LA; grandchildren, Mercedes L. Maneice, Fredericksburg, VA, Ethel Smith (Demondre) and DeShone Smith, Saginaw, MI, Micah and Melody Maneice, Huntsville, AL, Jordan Hayes Bossier, LA; great-grandchildren, Raina Maneice, Fredericksburg, VA, Atlas Saint Fleur, Meridianville, AL; Roman Ray, Fredericksburg, VA, Au’brey Leona Smith-Washington, Saginaw, Ri’an Ray, Fredericksburg, VA; sisters-in-law, Lillie Russell, Flint, MI, Donna McKinney, Saginaw, Shirley J. Mr. Caryle Thomas Russell was also preceded in death by his grandson, Caryle Thomas Matthew Smith; parents, Rayfield and Hazel Russell; brothers, Richard, Rayfield III and Robert “Dottie” Russell; sister, Estelle Russell Jones; mother and father-in-law, Mattie and William H. Ross, Sr.; sister-in-law, Patricia A. Ross-Johnson; brother-in-law, Willie J. Ross; niece, Augusta; special friends included Robert, Wilbert and Eddie Dunn. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Bishop Hurley J. Coleman, Jr. presiding. Dr. Carlotta Maneice will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service
