Ms. Cassandra Landrum

Cassandra L. Landrum mounted the wings of a dove and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the blessed age of 70. She was born November 29, 1950 to the late George Sr. and Jessie Mae Landrum and was the last surviving of their five children. She was predeceased by her parents George and Jessie Mae Landrum, brothers Donald, George, Jr. and Steven Landrum, and her sister Emily Landrum. Fraternal grandparents: Ernest and Liza Landrum, and maternal grandparents: Elijah and Ruth Terry. Casandra Landrum was a graduate of Saginaw High School and a proud member of the class of 1968. After graduation, she attended Delta College. She was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital (now Ascension St. Mary’s) and retired after 28 years of faithful service. She was well known for her smile, humor, and compassion for everyone she met. She was always willing to lend a hand when needed but was happiest when singing praises and lifting the name of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved the Lord and was a lifelong, faithful member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church for over sixty years. She was blessed with a love for music, a powerful tenor and sang under the anointing of the Lord. The entire Landrum/Terry family grew up in Bethel. She was very active in the church at an early age, singing in the Junior Choir and HCH Youth Choir. In 1975, Cassandra was a founding member of the BAMECIAN Gospel Ensemble established under the leadership of Rev. H.C. Huggins. Additionally, she was also a faithful member of the Bethel Voices and provided unparalleled quality to its tenor section. She could be depended upon to participate in all singing engagements both in Saginaw as well as throughout the state for the Michigan Annual Conferences, Founders Days, and other religious programs. A true servant of God, she devoted her life to helping others and serving the Lord in every capacity. Cassandra was indeed a loyal and faithful member of the Courtesy Ministry for over 40 years and served the church for all major events sponsored by the Courtesy Ministry, including welcoming visitors, serving for church receptions, Coffee Hour and programs. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving daughter, Shawnisha Landrum, two twin grandsons, Khyren and Kayden Landrum Lee, two nephews Jamaul Landrum (Chicago, IL) and Stephen Andrae Landrum, niece Sharon D. Meredith (Lithonia, GA), two godchildren, Shannon Rogers and Robert Harris (Flint, MI). Also mourning her loss is an aunt Shirley Murray, and two uncles J.T. (Rev. Azilee) Landrum, and Robert Landrum, many other cousins, family and friends. Other deceased family members: aunt Jeanetta Washington, and cousin Joyce Bell (Pittsburgh, PA) Special Friends that will truly mourn her life include: Yvette Wofford, Corri Lynn Wofford, Atty.
