Ceabon "CW" Martin

Mr. Ceabon “Bud” William Martin was called home to be with our Heavenly Father to join his lovely wife, Verba Lee Martin, on Saturday, September 13, 2014. He was born August 4, 1938 to Mose and Irene Martin in Pickens, Arkansas. He was 76 years old. Ceabon attended Walnut Lake Schools in Pickens, Arkansas. He was baptized as a child at Clayburn Chapel in Arkansas at Walnut Lake. Ceabon moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1964 with his loving wife, Verba Lee Martin. He was employed at the General Motors Grey Iron Foundry for over 40 years before he retired in 2002. Ceabon was a member at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Ceabon was known for his excellent skills on the barbeque grill, his outgoing personality, sense of humor, and giving heart and soul to all his family and friends. Ceabon was very comical and loved to tell jokes. He was a hardworking man and a great provider for his family. Ceabon enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, making sure his wife kept a smile on her face. The bond they shared could never be broken with 56 years of marriage. Ceabon is survived by his seven children, Freddy, Billy, Donnie (Jenell), Derrick (Debbie), Debra, Kim, and Roshunda Martin, all of Saginaw, Michigan; fifteen grandchildren, Detrick Lewis, Dominique Mitchner, LaDonnis Duncan, Willie Martin, Donterrius Duncan, Toni Cole, Shana Martin, Devon Martin, Devontay Martin, Danielle Martin, E’Mya King, Freddie Martin Jr., Makayle King, DeLando Martin; thirteen great-grandchildren; one special granddaughter, Nakeisha (Porter) Bledson III. He was also survived by his siblings, Millie Martin, Ronnie Martin and Lorene Martin, all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Juliana Williford, Jonathan (Ledoris) Martin, Irene (Robert) Thomas and Johnny (Felicia) Martin, all of Saginaw, Michigan. Ceabon was preceded in death by his dear wife, Verba Lee Martin; his parents, Mose and Irene Martin; grandparents, David and Millie Martin Sr., and Ceabon and Isabella Williams; his father and mother-in-law, Pamp and Earthalean Postway; his sister, Emma Crosby; brothers, Mose Martin, Jr. and Elijah Martin; sisters-in-law, Beatrice (J.W.) White and Viola (Robert) Alexander; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Lee Postway and Ike Louther; and his precious grandson, Dondre Martin. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at World Outreach Campus, 2405 Bay Road, Pastor Hurley J. Coleman, Jr. Minister Sandra Robinson will officiate with entombment in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
