Mr. Cedric "Cix" Lamont Luke

Mr. Cedric Lamont Luke (Cix), entered into this life on September 6, 1977 in Saginaw, Michigan to the union of William Earl Luke and Pauline (Washington) Luke. He passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the age of 40 years. Cedric was a member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of his uncle, Pastor Otis Washington. Cedric attended Saginaw High School, and enjoyed cooking, playing golf and listening to music. Cedric had a deep love for his family. He would attend family functions and was certain to make his rounds to spend time together with all family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandson. Cedric was a person you could not dislike. He befriended everyone he came into contact with and he was the type of person you wanted as a friend because he always projected a positive attitude flavored with humor. If you had a problem, he would be the first person to offer help. His favorite saying was, “Call me if you need me.” When he said it, you could rest assured that he meant it. “Cix” will seriously be missed. Mr. Luke departed this earth on Thursday, September 28, 2017. He leaves a legacy of love for his family and friends, his memory being cherished by his daughter, Shy’Tavia C. Luke, Saginaw, MI; sons, D’Tayvion D. Luke and Jordan Caffey both of Saginaw, MI; grandson, Kah’Mari J. Brown; mother, Pauline Luke of Saginaw, MI; brothers, Everett Luke, Anthony E. (Casandra) Luke, both of Saginaw, MI and Ernest Wayne Ellis, Texas; sisters, Tangela Hunt, Saginaw, MI and Antwinette L. Luke, Virginia; Step-mother, Sunobia Sims, Saginaw, MI; the mother of two of his children, Latonya Lindsey, Saginaw, MI; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and special friends. Cedric was preceded in death by his daughter, Akila Bre’Anna Corley; father, William Earl Luke; grandmothers, Marie Washington and Gennie Rayford; a sister, Shota Luke and many other loved ones. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 2615 Williamson Road. Pastor Otis Washington will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607 on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. to greet friends.
