Mr. Charles Stigger

Mr. Charles Leonard Stigger was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 13, 1954 the son of AC Stigger and Alberta Mae Angel. Charles passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2023 at his Bay City residence cradled in the arms of his cherished wife Rowena while snuggling his beloved puppy, “Sassy”. Charles graduated from Arthur Hill Technical High School and later joined the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. He gained employment at Saginaw Steering Gear a Division of General Motors Corpor, and was a member of UAW Local 699. He retired after 30 years of service. He enjoyed going to church, spending time with his love, Rowena, family and friends. He spent time staying active, he would ride his bicycle and take daily walks with Sassy. He truly loved sports of all kinds but had a fondness for basketball, chess and playing pool. He was always up beat, in a good mood, a jokester and he enjoyed music. Chuck had a way of keeping a smile on every one’s face. He enjoyed reading and had a wealth of knowledge. He leaves his loving devoted wife, Rowena Stigger; one daughter, Kandice Tamika Stigger, her daughter, Patricia Smith, her son, Marcus Tyrek Smith and his children, Nova Smith, Cree Smith, Braylon Smith, and Ah’mira Smith of Durham, NC; his son, Leon Thomas (Diamond) and his children, Leon Thomas, Levi Thomas, Le’ona Thomas, Lena Thomas, Layla Thomas of Saginaw, MI; his son, Charles Thomas (Jessica) and his children, Charles L. Thomas, Rose Thomas, Chance Thomas, Brooklynn Thomas, Cassius Thomas, and Charlotte Thomas of Bay City, MI; several great-grandchildren, Loentay Thomas, Ayanna Thomas, and Naomi Thomas of Saginaw, MI; nieces, Kyra Brown, Breah Franklin, TX, Octavia, Raunna Browder, Alexis Lawrence, Tiarra Pought, Raeunna Scott, all of Saginaw, MI, Shronda Stanford of Fort Wayne, IN; nephews, RaeQuinn James Scott of Bay City, MI and his son, RaeQuinn Reashade Scott of Saginaw, MI and Steve Brown of Texas; sisters-in law, Alene Scott of Saginaw MI, Tijuana Scott of Holland, MI, Ros Scott, Bernice Scott, both of Saginaw MI, Andrea (Stanford) Morris of Fort Wayne, IN; brothers-in-law, Ricky (Lamar) Cook of Fort Wayne, IN and Terry (Darnell) Pought of Saginaw, MI; close friends, Gwen Hurley of Saginaw MI, Anita Brown of Atlanta, GA, Diane Hood of Saginaw, MI, Phylis McDaniel of Florence AL, Kareem and Tina Gaskew of Minnesota; a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and his daughter, Asha Iman Stigger (1999), as well as his parents through marriage, JP Scott and Naomi Bandy; brother-in-law, Lonnie Scott. Thank you to everyone who has shared in our process of celebrating his life. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, Michigan 48607 .Dr. Willie F. Casey will officiate. Interment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
