Memorial service will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Browne's Mortuary, 441 North Jefferson Avenue. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Mr. Chester Hill, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 8:15 a.m. at St. Mary?s of Michigan Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan after a lengthy illness. He was born December 20, 1949 in Chicago, IL, the second of 10 children born to William Hill, Sr. and Mary Ferguson. He graduated from high school in 1966 and started his own business, ?Best for Less?, where he performed all phases of interior and exterior home improvements. He married Gloria Dean Stepney on September 30, 1972 and moved his family to Saginaw, Michigan in August of 1982. They resided at 1202 Carroll Street. Chester and Gloria had six beautiful, strong black men and women, and all of them were the love of their parent?s lives. Chester will always be on the hearts and minds of all that loved him: his loving and supportive wife, Gloria D. Hill; four sons, Edward Beck, Chester Hill, Jr., Larry Hill, all of Chicago, IL and Lonnie Hill of Saginaw, MI; two daughters, Kathy (Michael) Branch of Plainfield, IL and Christel (Antwan) McClure of Las Vegas, NV; 13 grandchildren, Darryll, Shaqura, Tav?eon, Tra?veon, Master, Dominique, Devontia, Christina, Lon?nae, Angel, Kila, Octavia and Antwan; five sisters, Sylvia (Charlie) Parham, Viola Hill, Cecilia (Dennis) Vernors, Wanda Morris, all of Saginaw, MI and Diane (Harry) Allen of Denver, CO; three brothers, Allen (Pam) Hill of Saginaw, MI, Richard (Cindy) Hill of Grand Rapids, MI and Cezar Morris, II of Denver, CO. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his mother-in-law, Louise Banks; father-in-law, Henry Stepney; sister-in-law, Gladys (Sammie) Hankins; brothers-in-law, Elzie (Marcia) Banks, of Chicago, IL and Larry Stepney of Covington, LA; aunts, Mae Heller of Indiana, Penelope (Dan) Burns of Oakland, CA, Nell (John) Underwood and Gloria Dean Ferguson, all of Chicago, IL, Reola Green and Flora McDonald, both of California, and Shertha Ramey of Stevenspointe, WI; uncles, Bob, Eugene, and Robert Ferguson, all of Chicago, IL, Melvin (Martha) Williams, Dell (Mary) Williams, and Lester (Sharon) Williams; and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a close friend, Mary.
