Mr. Clarence Earl Montgomery

Mr. Clarence Earl Montgomery, was the youngest of twelve children born to Leonard, Sr. and Lucille (Tucker) Montgomery on October 17, 1950 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He passed away on March 25, 2022 at the age of 71 years. As a child, Clarence attended St. James Temple Church of God In Christ. He completed his education at Immaculate Conception Catholic School. Clarence was a proud Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army. Clarence, lovingly known as Earl, was employed by the Clarksdale Public School System and Riceland Foods Corporation in Clarksdale, MS. After moving to Michigan, he became employed with the Saginaw County Railroad Commission. Earl enjoyed watching sports any day of the week. He was an avid reader with an excellent memory. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, he had the gift of a true comedian with a great sense of humor and a heart of gold with a big infectious laugh. He could entertain anyone. Clarence leaves to celebrate his legacy, one son, Davey Luster of Los Angeles, CA; four daughters, Deleslie Luster of Las Vegas, NV, Evelyn Garza and Yvette Green of Grand Rapids, MI, Tyquita Jones of Clarksdale, MS; step-son, Ricky Garza; 16 grandchildren, Trinity, Davian, Darius, Dymond, Danielle, Breyonna, Jaylon, Elvintie, Edward, Allen, Amos, Carlos, Olivia, Nicholas, Keyshawn and Kennedi; three great-grandchildren, Zyaire, Kyng and Ace; siblings, Pearlie Johnson, Ernestine Martin and Leonard (Mildred) Montgomery all of Saginaw; a host of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Linda Reid, and special nephew, Jon Gooden that were very dear to his heart; a host of cousins and friends including special friends, Barbara and Elaine Hebron. Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lucille Montgomery; siblings, James, Robert and David Young, Lucille Young-Smith, Sarah Huell, Rosie Young-Price, Addie Young-Gooden, Thelma Montgomery-Adams and Liz Montgomery- Brumfield; niece, Lisa Adams-Brown; nephews, Willie Smith IV and James Brown; a very special friend, Charles Melton whom he had the task of escorting from Vietnam back to the states. Special thanks to the Veterans Administrative Palliative Care Team, Deacon William Moore and Alonzo Betts and the Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home staff. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Elder Amos Smith will officiate. Interment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48442. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
