Mrs. Claudette Williamson

Mother Claudette (Thornton) Williamson, was the First Lady of House of the Lord Deliverance Center in Saginaw, Michigan and the wife of 65 years to Apostle Charles Williamson. She was born to Preston and Estella Thornton on March 24, 1936 in Gary, Indiana. Claudette was a graduate of Froebel High School. She continued her education in Early Childhood Development at Indiana University and completed her Associates Degree and Child Development Associate Credentials at Indiana Vocational Technical College. On February 1, 1958, Claudette married the love her life, Charles Williamson and to their union five sons were born. As a young couple, rooted in the Deliverance Ministry, they became the founders of the Church of Deliverance in Christ in Gary, Indiana in 1967. The ministry started in the basement of the couple’s home, and was later moved to a storefront on Broadway and then to a larger space on 11th Avenue in Gary. In 1972, the Lord led Rev. Charles Williamson to establish the House of the Lord Deliverance Center in Saginaw, MI. Mother Claudette Williamson, was by her husband’s side in the ministry. She was a true example of who, what and how a Woman of God and First Lady should be. She always had an encouraging word for others. She was a prayer warrior who knew how to intercede in prayer for others. Claudette utilized her degree as a teacher for the Saginaw County CAC Head Start program and as an Educational Services Specialist for over 32 years. She enjoyed traveling all over the country with her husband ministering to the masses, preaching and winning souls to Christ. On February 20, 2023, Claudette traded this life for eternity to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her. Claudette was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Estella Thornton; sisters, Marjorie (Clint) Reeves, Vivian (Sherman) Manyfield, Blossom (Jim) Brewer, Mamie Mabon; Freddie Mae, Isabella and Barbara Thornton; brothers, Preston (Essie), John, Edward, James, Walter, Dudley and Earl Thornton. She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved husband of 65 years, Apostle Charles Williamson; five sons, Ralph Williamson, Bishop Zachary (Vina) Williamson, Charles Williamson, Joseph Williamson and Fred Williamson; three loving grandchildren; Keshia (Brandon) Carter, Zachary (Brenica) Williamson and Fred Williamson, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Parker Williamson and Logan Carter; loving daughter and long-time caregiver, Jeanette Vaughn; and special niece, Blossom (Walter) Mabon; brother, Pleas (Guytra) Thornton; sister-in-law, Emma Drumright; brothers-in-law, Daniel Williamson, Allen (Joyce) Williamson, Lloyd (Anita) Williamson and Jerry (Joanne) Williamson; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Saginaw Full Gospel Holy Temple, 1200 E. Genesee St., Saginaw, MI 48601. Bishop Zachary Williamson will officiate with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Evans & Browne's.
