Mrs. Claudia Mae Cooper

Claudia Mae Cooper, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the age of 90 years. Born on October 16, 1933 in Forest City, Arkansas. Claudia lived a life full of love, kindness and generosity. Claudia was known to many as “Granny”. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church until her health failed. Claudia was known for her warm heart and unwavering support for her family and friends. She had a unique ability to brighten any room with her infectious smile. Her love for cooking, going to the casino, playing Pokeno, traveling and spending time with her family brought her so much joy. Throughout her life, Claudia wore many hats and took on a variety of roles with grace and dedication. She was a proud Avon and Amway Representative. Her passion as a cook; she shared her love of food with everyone around her. Her culinary skills became the heart of many gatherings, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who tasted her delicious meals. Her kindness, warmth and tireless work ethic will be remembered by all who knew her. Claudia is survived by her ten children, Patirica (Clarence), Loretta (Taylor), Gloria (Billy), Tyrone (Lisha), Earl, Mary, Noel (Patricia), Marcella (Patrick), Diabenese, and Antjuane; three step-children, Cheryl, Henry, Jr. and Richard Polk; 35 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren whom she adored and cherished. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Claudia’s legacy of compassion and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She taught those around her the true meaning of love, resilience and the importance of living each day to the fullest. Those who knew Claudia will always remember her as a guiding light, whose presence made the world a better place. Claudia was preceded in death by her loving companion of 42 years, Henry Polk; her first husband, James Milton Cooper; parents, Amos and Pearline Vanzant; five siblings, Beatrice Williams, Rose Stewart, Lessie Cooper, LeeGirtha Walker and Thurman Vanzant; four grandchildren, Brittany, Gary, Reese and Ebony; step-daughter, Cecila Polk; special friends, Louis Stewart and Quinton McMurren. Rest in peace, Claudia Mae Cooper. Your spirit will forever be a beacon of love and hope. Celebration of Life Service to be held Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson, Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor Craig Tatum will officiate.
