Mr. Clayton "Charles" Hollis

Clayton Charles Hollis was born on July 14th, 1949 in Headland, AL to Emmit and Emma Hollis. He gained his wings on Wednesday October 7, 2020 at the age of 71. Clayton became a resident of Saginaw, MI in 1953. He attended Saginaw Public Schools and was a graduate of Saginaw High School “Class of 1967”. He enjoyed watching sports and gathering with friends and family. He formerly attended Victorious Believers Ministries C.O.G.I.C. He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Cherone Lawrence of Saginaw, MI and Ciara Hollis of Columbus, OH; one son Darryl Garrett of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren, Shaquille Lawrence, Jayden and Dominic Brazil, all of Saginaw, MI, Da’Myiah and Da’Micah Garrett, both of Columbus, OH; two great-grandchildren, Kashun and Sincere Lawrence, both of Saginaw, MI; one sister, Becky (Luther) Petty; one brother, H. Cecil (Renee) Hollis, all of Saginaw, MI; two cousins more like sisters, Peggie (Hinton) Lucas of Huntersville, NC and Drayne Terry of Saginaw, MI; one aunt, Bessie (Hermon) Baxter of Slocomb, AL; one uncle, Royal Lee Holley of Saginaw, MI; 8 nieces, Tiffani, Armishia, Devona, Sharmayne, Nakira, Naporsha Hollis, Deirdre Smith and Lacretia (Darrell) Usher; seven nephews, Ralpheal Hill, Jazznon Hollis, Diontae Lloyd, Charles Garrett II, Marcus Garrett, Devario Garrett Sr. and Reginald Terry; his extended family, Shender (Regimond) McKinney, Gracie Witherspoon, Tonja Brown and the Warren family; Many other special family member and friends including, Annie Kelly, Wesley Thomas, Frank Clennoni and his Northfield Apartment Family. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents Emmit and Emma Hollis; his brothers Thomas E. and DeRonnie “Bull” Hollis; grandparents Clayton and Essie Holley, Thomas Hollis and Willie (Buster) Brackens; sister-in-law, Mary A. Hollis; nephews, Devin “Von” Hollis and Seondai Hill; mother and father-in-law, Alice and Percy Garrett, and his former wife, Cathy Rogers. The family would like to express special thanks to Wesley Thomas, Evans and Browne’s Funeral Home and all those who called, stopped by and help us through this time of bereavement. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607. Elder Edward Jones will officiate. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607 on Thursday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
