Mr. Colandez Quinn Chapman

Our beloved son, fiancé, brother, uncle, nephew, grandchild and cousin Colandez Quinn Chapman went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer on April 13, 2025 in Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 37 years. He was born June 24, 1987 the son of Darlene Chapman and Winston Walker. Colandez, affectionally known as “CQ” graduated from Arthur Hill High School, “Class of 2005” and then he went to Vincennes University to pursue a degree in dentistry and later attended nursing school in Detroit, MI. While attending VU he received a scholarship for running track. At an early age, “CQ” began working as a basketball referee for Saginaw Township. He also worked for Habitat for Humanity building homes for the needy. Colandez also worked as a laborer at Nexteer Automotive and later worked for Wolverine Human Services as a Youth Care Worker. He enjoyed playing basketball and listening to R & B and Rap music. During his chill time, he loved spending loving quality time with the love of his life, Danelle and shopping for Air Jordans. His favorite pass time was watching You Tube and spending time with his brother, Juwan and sister Bea. Colandez leaves to cherish his memory his mother Darlene Chapman, Saginaw; brother, Juwan Chapman; sister, Beatrice Q. Chapman, Saginaw; his beloved fiancée, Danelle Coleman, Saginaw; grandmother, Beatrice Chapman, Saginaw; aunts, Emma Jean Wilson, PA and Thelma Jackson, Detroit, MI; uncles James Chapman, Jr. (Erma), Charles F. Chapman, Sr. TN and Jerry Chapman (Dora) TX and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and a very special friend, Chris Walker. Mr. Colandez Quinn Chapman was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Chapman, Sr; cousins, Jason Chapman, Lavell Jackson and DeSean “Dusty” Wallace. The family extends special thanks to Covenant Mackinaw Hospital, the Coleman and Payne families, Nutrition Service, 7 Main and ICU. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor Dennis Cotton will officiate. Interment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 950 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
