Ms. Connie A. Chester Banks

Our beloved mother, Connie A. (Chester) Banks passed away on December 16, 2024 in Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 67 years. Connie was born on January 20, 1957 in Saginaw, to Dave and Luvenia Chester. Connie was educated in the Saginaw Public Schools and worked for Saginaw General Hospital for over 20 plus years. She was a member of Candlelight Missionary Baptist Church. She was loved by many and her love was unlimited. To the ones that knew her, she was the life of the party and when she walked her walk, she talked her talk. She loved to eat, be around her family, she enjoyed watching the soaps and lifetime movies. Connie leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Johnny Banks; three sons, Demetrius Chester, Alfred Barney III and Demarcus Barney; one daughter, Chenille Banks all of Saginaw, MI; six grandkids, Demetriona Banks, Sanii Carr Barney, Ka’Maria Banks, Naomi Riley, Alfred Barney IV and O‘Cean Barney; one great-grandchild, Messiah Tillman all of Saginaw; four sisters, Faye (Randy) Smith, Brenda Boyd, Kay Dawkins and Sarah Walter; one brother, Dave (Gail) Chester; one special nephew and nieces, Antwoine, Yahonna Humes and Lashon Castell; seven nieces, Pamela, Charlotte, Beverly, Cindy, Lydia, Sarah and Ester; eight nephews, Kenneth, Big Michael, Lamont, Lil Michael, Dave III, CJ, Lawrence and Jamar Bloom; a host of great-nieces and nephews; cousins; two sisters-in-law, Jannie Cotton and Cherly Clinkscale-Mack; two brothers-in-law, Apostle Craig (Shery) Banks and Rev. Orid (Tonya) Clinkscale; two god-sons, Cearn Lawrence, Lawrence Bell including three very special people; Shonquonette McKether, Sammeetra Carr and KeAndra Riley; two special friends, Sandra Hicks and Darlene Dunn and the Owen Street family. Mrs. Connie A. Banks was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Luvenia Chester; four sisters, Lille Claiborn, Josephine, Martha and Charlotte Chester; one brother, Tommy Chester; two brothers-in-law, Arthur Boyd and Donzell Dawkins; mother-in-law, Mary Clinkscale and father-in-law, Otis Banks. We are going to miss her but our memory of loving mother, sister and auntie will always be in our hearts. Family hour 10:00 AM Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Obed Thompson, officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210, S Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
