Constance E. Lipscomb

Mrs. Constance E. Lipscomb (affectionately known as "Connie") our beloved mother, sister, aunt and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the age of 64 years. She was born October 18, 1945 in Gadsden, AL, the daughter of Annie Jo Lipscomb and William H. Weston, Sr. Mrs. Lipscomb was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lipscomb, on Aug. 13th 2008, her mother, Annie Jo Weston, and her grandparents, Joe and Janie Lipscomb. At the time of her death, Connie was a faithful member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church, member and secretary of the Sr. Choir and also a member of the Mass Choir. She was educated in Gadsden, AL and graduated from Carver HS Class of 1964. She was currently employed at Saginaw Co. Head-Start for 11 years. Connie was a very loving & caring person and did not meet many strangers. She was a Godly person and truly loved her family and church. She will be missed by all. Mrs. Lipscomb leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Gerri (Johnnie) Evans Conic; one step daughter, Sallie Hale, Sylacauga, AL; a very special grandson whom she loved dearly, DeQuavion Devance, Saginaw, MI; five sisters, Sheilda (Charles) Braddock, Merchelle Weston, Saginaw, MI, Sandra (John) Harris, Deborah (Cornelius) McCray of Gadsden, AL, and Laverne (Thomas) Bentley, Birmingham, AL; four brothers, Phillip Terry (Danielle) Lipscomb, Saginaw, MI, William H. (Sherron) Weston Jr., Anthony (Robin) Weston, of Gadsden, AL, and Erwin (Loretta) Weston, Caledonia, MS; step-mother, Beatrice Weston; mother in-law, Susie McKinney; special nieces, Monica Vaughn, Kim Lloyd, Kinesha Mason, Candice Braddock, Shalon, Auriell, JaTia and Lacie Weston; special nephews, David (Sharon) Vaughn, Derek Riley, and Allen Weston and a host of other nieces, nephews, special cousins of Atlanta, GA, and friends, including special friends, Earl (Alice) Young, Greg and Vicky Tyson, Virgie Edwards, Bennie Palmore, Derrick Norman and Ann Thomas. Funeral service will take place at 11:00am Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church, 2930 Janes Street. Rev. Paul E. Broaddus will officiate. Friends may call at Browne’s Mortuary, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family hour 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
