Mr. Corsemore "Cosmo" Collier

Corsemore Collier “Cosmo” was born on July 23, 1928 in Louisville, Mississippi, to the late Frank Collier Sr. and Angie Lee Woods-Collier. With his family by his side, he took his last breath on this earthly world and took his first breath in Heaven on August 16th, 2020 at the age of 92 years. He retired from General Motors, Grey Iron Foundry with over 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 668. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Hopewell United Methodist Church in Louisville, Mississippi. Once he moved to Saginaw, Michigan he became a member of Bethel AME Church under the leadership of Reverend Harold C. Huggins. As a member of Bethel, he served on Usher Board #1, Class Leader, Steward, Altar Care Person, Head of Transportation, Tuesday night Bible study, Bethel Prayer Band and Armor-bearer for Reverend Harold C. Huggins, Reverend Clarence Robinson, Pastor Delano Bowman and Pastor P. David Saunders. Corsemore married Alma Doris Ball on April 28, 1968 and to this union two daughters were born, Coriseia (Paul Terrell) Lawson, Dacula, GA and Cassandra Bam Collier (Andre’ Martin), Saginaw, MI; three grandchildren, Laneise Haulcy-Collier, “the apple of his eye”, Paul Terrell Lawson IV, and Zaire Martin; great-grandchildren, Marlee-Laneise and Massimiliano (Logan) Reign, they survive him. He is also survived by one sister, Anna Mallett, Cleveland, OH; father-in-law, Andrew Webb Ball, Louisville, MS; sisters-in-law, Myrtis Maxine Scott, Ruby (Willie) Edmund, Angie Ball, DiKettie (Dominique) Jordan, Charlene Ball, Jane Collier and Marcella Luck-Ball; brothers-in-law, Steve (Patricia) Ball, Ray Ball and Kelvin Ball; godchildren, Dennis (Tina) McFee, Kimberly Ware, Mercedes Ball, Arritt Ball, Jr. and Alfreda Brewer, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including special friends, Pastor P. David Saunders, Odessa Caver, Keith Brown, Sarah Jones, Odail Thorns and Houston and Elaine Jackson. Mr. Collier was preceded in death by his parents, Frank, Sr. and Angie Collier; brothers, Ned, Henry, Ellis, Herbert, Danny, Frank Jr. and Robbie Collier; sisters, Sarah and Ozzie Collier and others; mother-in-law, Ida Ruth Ball; brothers-in-law, Allen and Arritt Ball, Henry Mallett; sisters-in-law, Cansadie Collier and Demetria Moore-Ball; nephew, Joseph Ball, Sr. and nieces, Kelley Collier and Antione Scott; good friends, Arlandus McCollum, Dave Caver, Freddie Caver and Eddie Hinton. He will be greatly missed by his family and those who affectionately called him Pa-Pa. We would like to send a special thank you to Covenant Hospice for the care they provided until the end. Visitation will take place from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2020, at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. A private funeral service will be held. Rev. Dennis Laffoon, Pastor and Rev. P. David Saunders will officiate. In lieu of flowers donate to Bethel A.M.E. Church.
