Ms. Crystal Williams

Our beloved sister, aunt, godmother, Ms. Crystal Williams transitioned on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the age of 73 years. She was born to Alexander and Ophelia (Jenkins-Gunn) Williams. Crystal was baptized at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Saginaw, MI at an early age. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School, Delta Community College and the University of Michigan. While living in Saginaw, Crystal was employed with Saginaw Power and became a Saginaw County Jail Librarian. Upon relocating to Oakland, CA, she became a practicing Buddhist. Crystal moved to Oakland, CA in the 70’s and worked numerous jobs in San Francisco, and Oakland. On December 8, 1980 she became employed by AC Transit. Crystal loved her job, her co-workers, and people she came to know as a transit driver on her routes. She retired September 9, 2004. Shortly after retirement Crystal moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she was a substitute Teacher in Clark County School District for a short period. She then became self-employed as an Esthetician. Her favorite pass times included home decorating (she had a gift for this). Crystal was also known as a Diva a social butterfly modeling clothes for relatives and friends. She loved entertaining (parties), jazz and art festivals, concerts, traveling and meeting friends at Gordon Biersch. Crystal loved to cook, and she could cook. She loved sharing her time with family, godchildren, and friends. Ms. Chrystal Williams leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Sheila Williams-Briggs-Woods; one brother, August (Audrionne) Williams, Saginaw, MI; god-children, Sabrina Vallier, Pilar and Celeste Davila, Kamihah Crawford (KK), Mariah Charelbois, Marlee Allen, and A.J. Rhodes, also one nephew/son, Dondale Williams; sister/niece, Adrian Mobley-Bowie (Carolyn) and special nephew, Eugene Wells, (Junior) favorite nephew, Craig Alexander Williams, Sr.; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including special friends, Brenda Benson, Susan Shelton, Martha Smith, Cheryl Brown-Obolsky, Constance Terrell, Sheila Poole, Brenda Holifield, Marina, Diane and Kerry Roberts, Della Casey, Rene McCall, Janie Cork, Queen Reed, Steve Barker, Dorothy Hulett, Belinda Sanders and Caroline (Sue) Woods.. Crystal was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Ophelia Williams, siblings, Greta and Michael Scarbough, Shirley Scarbough-Alexader, Loretta Bowie-Jones, Hester Williams, great niece, Cheryl Bowie, nephew, Andre Williams, goddaughter Poppy Vallier, brothers-in-law, Clearance Jones, Willie G. Woods and Joe Alexander. We will celbrate her life at a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Rev. Chaplain Adrain Mobley-Bowie will officiate.
