Ms. Cynthia Denise Montgomery

Ms. Cynthia Montgomery passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the age of 52 years. She was born December 15, 1963 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Celeste A. and Gennie Montgomery. She was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan and a member of New Generation Church. Cynthia loved helping and taking care of people. She became a Certified Nurse Assistant in 1985 and was currently employed with Compassionate Care. Cynthia was a very hard working, nice, sweet and loving woman. She always had a shoulder for you to cry on if you needed it. Cynthia enjoyed reading, going to church, listening to music, but above all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her family very much and will be truly missed. Ms. Cynthia Montgomery leaves to cherish her memory; one son, Cortney (JoAnne Duel) Montgomery, Sr.; two daughters, Lakeya (DeAndre Allen) Montgomery and Quintesha T. Montgomery; life partner of 19 years, Eric Prince, all of Saginaw, MI; stepson, Latrail (DeeAnn) Nelson, Sr. of Grand Rapids, MI; nine grandchildren, Cortney Montgomery, Jr., Keymoni McKinney, Demond McKinney, Jr., Dajah Montgomery, Keon McKinney, Olivia Montgomery, Jovion Montgomery, Latrail Nelson, Jr. and D’Angelo Nelson; mother, Celeste Montgomery; two sisters, Carmen Hawkins and Sylvia Montgomery; two brothers, Donald and Harold Montgomery; four aunts, Johnnetta Wilson, Ethel Mae Rester, Phyllis Bond and Elsie R. Burks; two uncles, Clint Montgomery and Tyrone Damon; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including her best friends, Marlette Barnes and Ternenia O’Bryan; four godchildren, Ranada Barnes, Terry Barnes, Demetrius O’Bryan and Erica (Dequan) Ford. Ms. Montgomery was preceded in death by her father, Gennie Montgomery; grandson, Nathaniel Nelson; grandparents, Lucious and Jessie Hawkins; great-grandparents, Ernest and Ethel Taylor; aunt Mettie Evans; two uncles, Willie Hawkins and Ollie Montgomery. The family would like to express special thanks to Visiting Nurse Association and Covenant Healthcare. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue. Rev. Mary Allen will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
