Mr. Daniel Chaffer

Daniel Chaffer was born November 27, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of John and Severine Chaffer. He passed away Friday, April 3, 2026 at the age of 70 years. Daniel was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, MI and attended Saginaw Public Schools. He dedicated over 30 years of his life to Scars Automotive Center where he worked as a Mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars, sharing quality time with family, using words of endearment and spending time with his friends. He had a heart of gold and would help everyone! Mr. Chaffer leaves to cherish his memory, his only child, Latoya (De’Eddrick, Sr.) Lowe of Saginaw; four grandchildren, De’Eddrick Lowe II, De’Asia, De’Toya and De’Kanye Lowe all of Saginaw; one sister, Billie Sue Chaffer, Detroit, MI; four brothers, Christopher (Idell) Chaffer, John (Lucille) Chaffer, David (Patricia) Chaffer, Michael (Cynthia) Chaffer, all of Saginaw; extended grandchildren, Kayla Trice, Micaha Applegate, both of Saginaw; seven sisters-in-law, Rose Chaffer, Flint, MI, Ruby McGee, Dorothy Scott, Juanita Weems, Deborah Weems, Rolanda Walker, Evelyn Weems, all of Saginaw; two brothers-in-law, Louis Weems and Ricky Weems; a host of nieces and nephews; god-children, Rabbani Kariem, Trellis, Perry, Crystal, Elliott and Zach Laury, all of Saginaw; friends including Aaron Tucker (whom he called a son), Rudy, Terri, Tony, Tamika and very close friends, Felix (Evelina ) Garcia and Mary Myles. Mr. Daniel Chaffer was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Sandra Chaffer; parents, John and Severine Chaffer; sisters, Frances Porter and Ruth Johnson; brothers, Alvin and Morris Chaffer; mother and father-in-law, Louis and Ruby Weems; sisters-in-law, Toni Chaffer and Annie Kelly; brothers-in-law, Peter “Willie” Weems and Andrew Scott; three nieces, Adrian Weems, India Mackey and Mi’Legacy Scott; a god-daughter, Terri Laury. The family would like to express special thanks to Harmony Hospice, Bavarian Comfort Care, along with family, friends and a very special thank you to nurse Chris Rick. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at New Christ Community Church, 3302 Grant Street, Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Dr. Eugene Seals MD, Pastor and Co-Pastor Audrey Parker will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
